College is enormous and whether it is academic purposes or other facilities like canteen every thing can be availed inside campus. But For PG students hostel facilities are a bit less. But getting better due to new Mens hostel building.
quality of teaching is one of the best in the state. And very cooperative. Their help is beyond expectations and are very amiable during research and publishing papers. they introduced new technologies in the field also.
Had a history of even Mercedes visiting college for recruitment. But recent trend shows placements are getting not much better than for undergraduate students. There isn't much extra perks for PG certificate but easy to get an internship in companies like royal Enfield.
College has all the necessary infrastructure and especially mechanical department has different workshops and even upgraded 3D printing and fab lab. We have smart classrooms. Also both men's and Ladies hostel facilities are good
Quality of teaching is very much good. There are numerous journals published under faculties which shows their knowledge. Inter-state and intra-state competitions make us job ready. But curriculum needs much updation.
College has an active placement cell. Sometimes even one student may get more than two placements. Placement offers never goes below 3.5 lakhs. Mercedes and Shobha constructions packages are among the highest ones.
We really have a huge campus with well equipped lab and workshop. We also have a good playground and a proper gym for both females and males . The one darkside of the huge campus is that we have to travel a lot for all kind of stuff
Academic wise we have a really good faculty team to support us in our academics. We were also blessed to have proper workshop staffs and assistance from them really helped us in our 4 year journey. I
I passed out in 2022 which was just after the aftermath of Covid 19 , hence we were deprived partially of the placement benefits however the following year students had really good opportunities and they have nailed it too.
Very good infrastructure.Well furnished lab and workshops for all streams. There are three dedicated buildings for mechanical engineering workshops and labs alone, that makes the college best for mechanical engineering projects ,all over in state.I 've personally seen other college students using the fab lab of our college.
Academics is far better when compared with other colleges. RIT always comes in top 10 among all other colleges in state(which is 140 in number approx) ,in all semester results of APJKTU.Also, since it is a government funded college(among 12 others in kerala),teachers are very much qualified. Most of them has PhDs,and mulltiple citations in different journals.Multiple student technical bodies like IEEE,SAE,IEDC etc..also provides avenues for academic advancement of students.
Placements records are quite good. Top MNCs like Oracle,L & T come evry year, and give decent packages.(Oracle usually offers 14lakh CTC).Along with usual recruiters like CTS,Infosys,TCS come every year.Apart from software companies ,branch specific comapnies also come for recruitment( Sobha constructions and L & T: Civil,Mechanical , VVDN tech ,DC technologies,Mahindra Cerium :-for EEE,ECE)
Definietly. It is a state funded college,so fees is just 8500 per year.As it is state funded,no compromise will be there in the avenues provided, like the qualifications of teachers, hostel facilities.Private colleges in kerala usually charge 1 lakh per year.Comparing to that, this college is totally worth of money.
As it is a government college, much interference won't be there from the faculty,in student affairs.Students do most of their activities as their own, like student professional bodies like IEEE,SAE and all. That makes the campus more vibrant and active.Active campus politics and cultural programmes evcen make the campus life more colourfull. There are other activities like sports tournaments, quizzing club, dancing club etc....for extra curricular oppurtunities.More details can be found in college website and wikipedia.
The college infrastructure are well maintained because there is a separate buildings for the different departments and they are strongly builted. Also one centralized Library and specific library for each departments.
I am choosen the course of batchelor's degree in mechanical engineering at Rajiv Gandhi Institute Of technology. The curriculum is very relevant because it's not teach only the theory but also make or prepare ourselves to tackle the real life issues.
There are different companies like L&T, infosys, G10X are coming every year to the purpose of placements. The quality of placements are very good and around 51% students are placed in every batch. The highest salary package is around two lakh and average salary is around 1 lakh .
Large college with lots of natural treasure. Lots of area in the college. Each departments separated and farther from each other. Cafeteria for spending intervals. Good canteen and food at cheap rate. Hostel well furnished and girls hostel very neat and clean. Hostel food is manageable with low mess fee. Smart boards in all classes. And fully equipped labs especially the concrete and Geotechnical lab.
Teachers with high qualification are present. Very well behaved and student friendly but strict sometimes. Very much dedicated in completing the portions. Very high quality teaching. Good understanding but sometimes Very punctuality.
Very much placements from IT and Electronics Department. But less for Civil engineers which means core sector. Gate coaching in certain Department also available. About 80 percent placement in certain departments.
Course coast just 8500 per year. Very much low compared to private colleges. Worth more than money.
Very peace and calm. Very friendly atmosphere, lots of extra curricular activities included in the campus. Friendly and fests well organised and enjoyable. Hostel life also Very enjoyable
RIT Kottayam is equipped with its own mechanical engineering lab which is a plus. This has provided me with invaluable hands-on experience, allowing me to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
The college is accredited, and the faculty of Mechanical Engineering is one of the best in all the government engineering colleges in Kerala. They were also really helpful regarding the final year projects.
They have one of the best placement committees, which played a crucial role in shaping my career. Thanks to their continuous support and well-structured placement process, I was able to secure two on-campus placements by the end of my bachelor's degree.
Since it is funded by the kerala state government, we had to pay 8000 rs approximately as semester fees. This is a lot cheaper and better value for money considering other private institutions which charge way more for less quality
The College has state of the art infrastructure in certain branches of Engineering including a Fab Lab with 3D printing. However the maintenance of the infrastructure is not so good as indicated by the poor state of many of the laborotories.
The college has competent faculty who inspires excellence from the students. It is one among the Top 5 Engineering colleges in the state and is declared a Centre of Excellence by the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological Univerty. However, the curriculum is not up to date and could be revised to reflect market needs.
The college has considereble placement opportunities especially in Computer Science and Electronics and Communications Engineering with mass recruiters like TCS constantly hiring a considerable workforce from the college. It also has noteworthy placement in other branches like Mechanical Engineering
As it is a Government College the fee and expenses are extremely low and hence it yields the highest value for money. The tution fee is as low as ₹13000 per year and with scholarships even these could be covered.
The Campus is a little bit less engaging when compared to other Government Engineering colleges. Although, profession related students organisations like IEEE, SAE etc function well, the overall engagement of students in extra-curricular activities is compararively low. However several opportunities await those students who excel in sports as the Campus hosts a wide range of Sports tournaments including the prestigious Kick Off Tournament held by the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
The campus prepared me with a great set of skills useful in professional and personal life. Far more than the formal education it imparted I value the lifelong connections it gifted me.
College has the best infrastructure. Each department has their own buildings and labs. All of them are properly functioning. RIT has 2 cafeterias and a big Canteen. College library has thousands of books. And a very large play ground and basketball court.
Rajiv Gandhi institute of technology is pioneer in Kerala engeneering education. It has been at top ten for decades. Some batches made 1st rank too . Students who are joining are the top ranked students.
Placements are plenty. Major companies like IBM, infosys, vipro, TCS, GE, plastic ominum... are came to select our brilliant heads. Most of the students got placed with high pay scales. Some students had more than one placement with the help of our placement cell.
Good infrastructure and campus. All the facilities are adequate like library laboratories and the setting up of buildings... spacious campus and facilities for sports and arts too...still expanding the campus..so it's good
Teachers are excellent...they support really well and understanding...give importance to academics and futuristic...teachers guide us really well...do things in a practical way and everything is taken care of
Placements are pretty good comparatively but need to improve ....they are trying really well to bring placements to campus... Even companies outside India is hiring...using their alumini network to bring placements to campus...
Absolutely...as it's a govt college with less fee and good academics....if you are planning for a BTech in Kerala then it is a good option to consider RIT in it...we will even get scholarship and hotels in lesser expense
Memorable experience...great.
If you are looking of BTech in Kerala...just go for it
The admission cut-off ranks for B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) during 2018 varied depending on the exam (like JEE Main, state exams) and the specific college or institute. However, a general overview is provided below:
Top IITs:
In IITs like IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, and IIT Kanpur, ECE or related branches had cut-off ranks typically under 2000 for General Category candidates.
Newer IITs like IIT Bhilai, IIT Goa, and IIT Jammu had ECE cut-offs around 6000–8000 rank range.
Top NITs:
In premier NITs like NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal, and NIT Warangal, admission to ECE closed around 4000–7000 for General Category.
For home state quota candidates, the closing rank extended further, sometimes up to 9000–12000 .
IIITs:
In top IIITs like IIIT Hyderabad (ECE), the closing ranks were quite competitive, around 1200–2500 (based on JEE Main score).
Other IIITs like IIIT Gwalior, IIIT Guwahati, and IIIT Kancheepuram had closing ranks in the 15000–25000 range for ECE.
Government Engineering Colleges (State Level):
Through state-level counselling (like KCET, MHT CET, TNEA), the ECE branch was available up to much higher ranks, even up to 50000–80000 in certain colleges depending on the state and institute popularity.
Private Institutes:
In reputed private colleges like VIT, SRM, and Manipal, ECE seats were also given based on entrance exams or board marks, and ranks beyond 50000 could still secure a seat.
Important Note:
Exact cut-offs differ by category (General, OBC, SC/ST), home state quota, gender, and the counselling round (first round cut-offs are stricter; later rounds are more relaxed).
Some special seats (like EWS or PwD) also influenced rank-wise admissions.
