The admission cut-off ranks for B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) during 2018 varied depending on the exam (like JEE Main, state exams) and the specific college or institute. However, a general overview is provided below:

  • Top IITs:

    • In IITs like IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, and IIT Kanpur, ECE or related branches had cut-off ranks typically under 2000 for General Category candidates.

    • Newer IITs like IIT Bhilai, IIT Goa, and IIT Jammu had ECE cut-offs around 6000–8000 rank range.

  • Top NITs:

    • In premier NITs like NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal, and NIT Warangal, admission to ECE closed around 4000–7000 for General Category.

    • For home state quota candidates, the closing rank extended further, sometimes up to 9000–12000 .

  • IIITs:

    • In top IIITs like IIIT Hyderabad (ECE), the closing ranks were quite competitive, around 1200–2500 (based on JEE Main score).

    • Other IIITs like IIIT Gwalior, IIIT Guwahati, and IIIT Kancheepuram had closing ranks in the 15000–25000 range for ECE.

  • Government Engineering Colleges (State Level):

    • Through state-level counselling (like KCET, MHT CET, TNEA), the ECE branch was available up to much higher ranks, even up to 50000–80000 in certain colleges depending on the state and institute popularity.

  • Private Institutes:

    • In reputed private colleges like VIT, SRM, and Manipal, ECE seats were also given based on entrance exams or board marks, and ranks beyond 50000 could still secure a seat.

  • Important Note:

    • Exact cut-offs differ by category (General, OBC, SC/ST), home state quota, gender, and the counselling round (first round cut-offs are stricter; later rounds are more relaxed).

    • Some special seats (like EWS or PwD) also influenced rank-wise admissions.

Dear aspirant,

Hope you are doing well. As per your query RIT Kottayam is a very renowned and good college college. The placement of Civil Engineering is in this college is decent which is neither good nor bad. Though the placements of other branches like CSE and ECE are very good. Only 60% students were placed from Civil Engineering Department as core companies were less in number for campusing. The average package ranged between 3 - 5 LPA. Please click on the link below for more information and updates. Hope you find this helpful. Thank you.

RIT engineering college is very good in academics, projects as well as quite good placement ratio is there.

If you are particularly asking about you that can you get placed from RIT then the answer is yes and no. Because it all depends on you if you have not worked on projects, weak in academics, not good communication skills, misbehave in college there automatically the chances of getting hired becomes very less. But if you follow the drill properly and keep you up to date with market and you projects are good for present time not copy paste of others old model then you'll definitely get selected from the crowd of million not from RIT but from your home too, it all depends on you and only you.

Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Kottayam is a government engineering college. This college also offers Bachelor of Architecture course. The course is backer up by renowned faculties. However, the college doesn't help much in placement for B.Arch. There is a 6 months training program time during 4th year of the course as per the course curriculum, where students are offered 6 months internships. It can be with or without stipend according to the organization. Once you complete your course, you can apply for jobs in different organizations or companies.

Best of luck.

Yes sir, i understand your query regarding the admission through nata score  as the Nata counselling starts after declaring the results of NATA after july 2019 as nata counselling starts after result.

The admission process after nata score is done in nata counselling based on the NATA score and the qualifying exam marks in exam as it is 50 out of 200.Candidate needs to undergo NATA 2019 Counselling Process for a particular university he/she wishes to apply in. ALSO with the nata score the marks of 10+2 qualifying marks are also considered.

Best of luck for the admission as per your choice !!

College Infrastructure

We really have a huge campus with well equipped lab and workshop. We also have a good playground and a proper gym for both females and males . The one darkside of the huge campus is that we have to travel a lot for all kind of stuff
