sir i got 8.0cgpa in 10th and 61%in 12th. and 75%in degree . i m able to clear academic cut off of IIM

ayanmukherjee045 5th Jun, 2021

Dear Aspirant,

Different iims have their own criteria irrespective of your 10th and 12th. Top iims like Ahemdabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Kozhikode, Lucknow they give weightage to your 12th results mainly. There is division of points like for 90+ there is 10 points and for 85+ there is 8 points.

So,yes there will be a difficulty for you to get into these iims as your 12th score is low and that is why you need to keep your cat percentile very high. By very high I mean atleast 99.7+ if you fall into gem category.

Mohammed Thouqeer 14th Jul, 2021

Hello Roshan,

It is a good question that Department of Pre University, Karnataka will follow CBSE syllabus or not??

Basically there will be no changes in 2nd PU BOARD syllabus because there is no need of it, as I studied under PU Board they have well furnished syllabus which includes NCERT questions in major topics by which the  thought process of a student can be developed for exams like JEE, NEET, K CET,COMEDk and etc.

Hope I have cleared your doubt.

Which one is best for B.tech CSe Lovely professional university. College of engineering Roorkee. in term of academic , placement ,fees and infrastructure which one is worth it option.

panditaghumika 21st Oct, 2023

Hi,

I live in Jalandhar and I somehow know more or less about LPU and don't have idea about any other university. I know that It's important to take into account aspects like academic specialisations, faculty, placement opportunities, and scholarships when selecting the best university for a B.Tech programme. You endorse LPU (Lovely Professional University) for a number of reasons based on your research and conversations with B.Tech students there. Let's explore the specifics of the LPU B.Tech programme that make it an appealing option.

1. Outstanding Placement Record: The likelihood of getting a good job after graduation is one of the most important factors students take into account when selecting a university. In this regard, LPU has a stellar record, especially for students studying computer science and engineering (CSE). Over 500 domestic and international businesses come to LPU's campus each year to recruit employees. Well-known companies like Microsoft, Amazon, and Adobe are among the companies where LPU students have secured placements. The fact that a CSE student achieved a substantial package of 1 crore per annum in 2018 is a testament to the quality of education and opportunities at LPU.

2. Generous Scholarships: LPU's scholarship programmes demonstrate the institution's dedication to developing talent. Based on students' academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and other relevant factors, the university awards scholarships totaling crores of rupees to deserving applicants. Deserving students who receive these scholarships not only have their financial burdens reduced, but they are also inspired to excel academically and pursue their passions.

3. Highly Qualified Faculty: The faculty play a major role in the quality of education. LPU takes pride in having a faculty team that is highly qualified, with members coming from prestigious universities and colleges like the IITs, NITs, and IIMs. This guarantees that students receive high-quality instruction and guidance, which is essential for their development both academically and professionally.

4. Valuable Partnerships: Students pursuing a B.Tech in CSE greatly benefit from LPU's partnership with upGrad , compatia and many more. Students can further explore and develop their skills in their chosen field thanks to these partnerships. Partnerships with reputable organisations can give students access to more tools, information, and growth opportunities, giving them an advantage in the cutthroat job market.

5. Diverse Specialisations: It's crucial for CSE students to have the chance to specialise in fields that align with their interests and professional goals in today's dynamic and quickly evolving tech landscape. Within the CSE programme, LPU offers a variety of specialisations, including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, Data Science, and others. These specialisations give students the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in particular fields, making them more attractive to potential employers.

Hello Aspirant,

Yesterday, In a high level meeting chaired by our Hon'ble PM Shri Narendra Modi with all the states and Union-Territories and all other educational stake holders regarding the class 12th board examinations is over now and it has been decided that Class 12th board examinations will be cancelled and some suitable criteria will be decided by the board to provided marks to the respective students. In the wake of COVID-19 the decision has been taken so that the students could not put their life in danger of virus. It is knowns that due to the pandemic class 10th board examinations have already been cancelled and the result will be made on the basis of internal assessment. So don't worry for this issue because only examinations have been cancelled but the result will be provided and on the basis of that result you can take admission in whichever eligible college you want and the passing year will be considered as 2021 and all things will remain same but only the examinations have been cancelled and suppose if you will not be satisfied from your result then you can appear for exam whenever the conditions will be favourable.

i have an academic doubt. here why does a battery lose its power when used for a long time. is it due to decrease in emf or decrease in terminal potential? pls explain in detail...

RAJDEEP 11th Jun, 2021

Batteries are electrochemical device that convert chemical energy into electrical energy. Batteries are of two types - primary and secondary batteries. Primary batteries loose their charge with time while the secondary batteries can be recharged for repeated use. Battery cells loose power when the chemical that powers the reaction is finished up. This leads to an increase in internal resistance of the battery and a time comes when there are no reactants are left for chemical reaction and only products of chemical reaction are left in electrolyte in  the battery.
