Yes, it is true in india aeronautical engineering doesn't have much scope but if you are entering a college of that level then definitely no one can stop you getting placed. So I would suggest to give jee mains and crack jee advanced to get into the iits because there is least chance of getting unplaced or rather negligible. If you are going for jee mains iiest shibpur will also be a great college for that.

I hope you are doing good . I would like to tell you that PVP university offers btech in aeronautical engineering . The department of aeronautics is very awesome , most of the experiments are done in the ece labs only . The fees structure is 2.90 lakhs for 4 years . More than 70 percents students got placed with average package of 7.5 lakhs

MTech in mechanical Engineering is a professional degree of 2 years. The course involves the study of mechanics, kinematics etc which will be used for construction purpose and in the installation of tools and machines.
Now to answer your question, Yes you can go for m.tech in mechanical engineering after b.tech in aeronautical engineering. Just you need to qualify Gate entrance exam in mechanical engineering with valid score to pursue m.tech course.
