can I change my catagory from general to obc now in neet 2021,as result is out,but state result of Assam is awaited and I will be trying for the Assam state quota

Prateek kumar 10th Nov, 2021

Dear student,

NO you can not change your category once you filled it in any form and submit it, as for NEET also you cant not change the category and at the time of form filling if you choose OBC you have to fill the information about you category certificate like registration number and issued date and so then only you are eligible under the OBC quota.

So, you can correctly fill the form next year and can take advantage of the quota for OBCs.

Vaishnavi Priya Jha 18th Dec, 2021

Hello Shivam

In order to get private college in Karnataka under general quota, a minimum score of 400 marks is required and you are well above that. So that's a green signal.

You may also try applying in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.

Congratulations on your success. All the best for a bright future ahead.

I have scored 559 in neet 2021 in assam State UR category

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 5th Nov, 2021

Hi

It is difficult to make prediction as cut off keeps changing every year  depending upon various factors like

------------) number of students that appeared in the neet exam,

------------) kind of marks obtained by them ,

------------)  toughness level of the neet examination

------------)  number of seats available

------------) the category you are from etc

But when we go through previous data then ,

>>>>> with  559 marks ,

You hold  a good chance for an mbbs seat in a Government Medical College

For example,

in neet  2020, 529 marks for general category was the lowest mark to get an mbbs seat in  Government Medical College,   under Assam  State quota and it was for Dighu Medical College, Diphu

You can check the same at

https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-cutoff-assam

You also have chances in following government medical colleges for MBBS under Assam state quota:-

Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh

Tezpur Medical College, Tezpur

Silchar Medical College, Silchar

And a few more

To get the  complete list of colleges in which you have chances, you can go through our college predictor at

It gives you a personalized report with top college in which you have chances for admission , with the help of predicted colleges you can make better choice while filling your choices of colleges during your counselling

my domicile state in Bihar. can I participate in NEET ug state counselling of other states like Assam Himachal Telangana because predictor is showing good chances of admission in colleges those states

Raj 3rd Nov, 2021

Hello student ,

You can participate in the counseling of other state colleges through ALL INDIA QUOTA as you have a domicile of Bihar you can participate in STATE QUOTA COUNSELING of Bihar and not other states as 85% of the seats are reserved for the students with domicile of their respective state and 15% of the seats are reserved for the other students . So you can apply for other state colleges through AIQ but not through STATE QUOTA

I got 371 marks in neet I belong to Obc ncl category and residing in Assam do I have chances to get mmbs seat in govt colleges of Assam. I am a female candidate.

Anurag Khanna 3rd Nov, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

See it is quite difficult to help you with the exact list of colleges as the counselling is yet to be conducted and the cut-offs keep on changing every year but yes we can provide you the list of colleges that you can get based on previous years cut-off data.

So on such marks you have very low or almost no chances to get any of the government medical colleges under state quota of Assam because the cut-offs closed for OBC category around 425-435. But on such score you can go for some Deemed Institutions through AIQ counselling, so as per the previous years data you can go for following deemed institutions through AIQ counselling :-

BVDU Medical College and Hospital, Sangli:- 311 marks

Saveetha Medical College, Chennai:- 265 marks

Dr. DYP Edu. Soc. Deemed Uni., Kolhapur:- 262 marks

Vinayaka Missions Medical College and Hospital, Karaikal:- 257 marks

Krishna Institute of  Medical Sc., Karad:- 253 marks

Institute of Medical Sciences and SUMH, Bhubaneswar:-360 marks

Sri Siddhartha Medical College DU, T Begur:- 328 marks

JLN Medical College, Datta Meghe, Wardha:- 239 marks

Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and RI, Puducherry:- 231 marks

Chettinad Hospital and Research Institute, Kancheepuram:- 215 marks
