Is be robotics and automation good course?

akash_1554098543 Student Expert 12th Apr, 2019

Hello Rohan,

Yes both Robotics and Automation are very good field but u have to be adaptive and headstrong at the same time for the desired results.here are some basic difference between Robotics and Automation.

Automation — Automation means using computer software, machines or other technology to carry out a task which would otherwise be done by a human worker. There are many types of automation, ranging from the fully mechanical to the fully virtual, and from the very simple to the mind-blowingly complex.

Robotics — Robotics is a branch of engineering which incorporates multiple disciplines to design, build, program and use robotic machines.

Advantages of being a Robotics/Automation Engineer:

A highly paid and respectable job.

Both the government and the private sector give a lot of benefits to retain their skilled workforce.

Most Robotics/Automation engineers are employed in laboratories, space exploration, manufacturing plants, mining and organizations.

Disadvantages of being a Robotics/Automation Engineer:

Though highly paid, the work is very demanding but there are limited opportunities.

The job requires long hours of work.

Good luck.

On a scale of 0-100 how much would the students of Robotics And Automation branch Rate the Satisfaction With the college and course provided

Priya 19th May, 2019
Hello Jay!
First of all let me introduce you with the subject.
Robotics Engineering is an interdisciplinary branch of electrical engineering and mechanical engineering, with applications of computer science engineering too.

  • MIT WPU introduced this branch of engineering just last year. All the students who are a part of this course are just completing their First year of engineering.
  • As you might be knowing, FYBTech is a common year for all engineering students with no specialized subjects. So basically none of the students have actually got the full experience of robotics engineering here as yet.

  • That being said, MIT WPU is Known for hosting ROBOCON INDIA (a robotics competition at national level) every year since 2005. And has also won many events. So it has a very strong robotics background. The University of has always supported Robotics. It has just introduced a new course that's the only difference.
  • Placements at MIT has always been good so i don't think it would be different for Robotics too.
Hope this helps :)
Best of luck!!
