how much score is needed for admission for mbbs? are 12th board marks considered for admission?

Karishma Sawhney 13th May, 2022

Hello aspirant,

No, class 12 marks are not taken into account for admission into medical/dental colleges. However, the following is the minimum marks required for admission-

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as core subjects from a recognized board.

  • Class 12 or equivalent appearing aspirants are also eligible to apply for NEET

  • The class 12 percentage required for NEET 2022 exam is separate for each category and can be listed as under. NEET eligibility marks in class 12 to be considered are aggregate marks only for PCB subjects

    • UR - 50%,

    • OBC/SC/ST - 40%,

    • PWD - 45%

  • There is no particular score required to take admission, you must qualify NEET. Through All India Quota, the General category candidates must score 650+ to get into a government college, SC candidates must score 550+, OBC and EWS candidates' safe score is 630+

Hope it helps!

As there is no 75% criteria for admission in nits/iits this year but if I drop this year and get good rank next year, shall I be able to get admission in nit with 72% marks in 12th board.

Anurag Khanna 2nd Apr, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

It is quite difficult to say for next year because if this 75% criteria gets restored next year then you might not be able to get admission in NITs/IITs/IIITs/GFTIs but this year d efinitely you can get admission into aforesaid institutions on the basis of your JEE-Main or JEE-Advance score even if you don't have 75% in class 12th because 75% criteria has been lifted off for this year as well so now you need to just pass in all the subjects prescribed in class 12th.

i failed in one subject in 12th board rbse can i repeat coass 12th without giving compartment exam

Anurag Khanna 1st Apr, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

Yes you can do so, but why to repeat the entire year instead what you can do is either you can appear for NIOS or any other recognized open board and they provide the facility for On Demand Examinations and for the same you can appear either in the subject in which you have failed or for some other subjects in which you want improvement, from this you can save your year but make sure to check the applicable dates on the respective board's official website.

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck!!

is there seperate quota for Central Board and Gujarat Board students? OR once a candidate appears for JEE Mains / GUJSET , same quota?

Sohamsengupta8 26th May, 2022

Hello Student

There is no such discrimination between Central Board and Gujarat Board of Education. Qualify good set examination will get bar according to their merits. There is no deviation between the two board for marking basis of Gujcet  examination. Pass out students in science with PCM group. Gujcet examination is taken for total marks 120. Those secure at least above 90 marks telescope for taking admission in government B.tech colleges or reputed private Institute of Engineering or Technology.

Hope this will help.
