Come on, it is an immortal branch. It will exist and it has always good future until human kind will exist. Civil Engineering is the one of the ancient branch and fundamental need of human being so it has a bright future as its bright past. Dear candidate Civil Engineering is overall really a good stream. Metallurgy is also good but it's difficulty level is somewhat higher than Civil Engineering. You will get plenty career opportunities after civil engineering like:
1. Geotechnical Engineer
2. Site Engineer
3. Structural Engineer
4. Construction Engineer and many more,
You can expect starting Package of 6-7 LPA as a successful civil engineer and as you gain more experience your pay scale would increase accordingly.

Yes, you will get job in PSU. how? After clearing gate you have to apply at PSU (portal).Your GATE score cannot give you government jobs directly. You've to qualify interviews of PSUs or any other government office/department who may call you based on scores of all applicants after you apply for the post. - you will be shortlisted and called for final interview based on their GATE score.

With your above secured rank , you have good chances in getting seat in good colleges or even Andhra university also , but chances of getting a CS branch is much likely to be less.
Also try your admission in your home state as per your Home state quota , as there are also some high chances to get you a admissions seat there . You have got a really good rank , so you might get EE , CE , ECE and like that .

The placements are excellent on the campus. Almost, 90% of the students got placed. The minimum salary is about Rs. 8,000 per month and the highest is about Rs. 40,000 per month. Almost, all the companies visited the campus. Almost, 100% of the students got the internship. There is a placement cell. The minimum stipend is about Rs. 6,000 per month.

Only the Bachelor’s degree holders in architecture (B.Arch.) are eligible for admission to the Master’s program in the discipline. However, the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi-110002, provides specialization options for meritorious civil engineering graduates in its M.Arch. program and related fields. The school conducts the two-year M.Arch. program with specialization in architecture conservation, industrial design and urban design; Master of building engineering and management program (MBEM); Master of landscape architecture (MLA) and Master of planning course with specialization in environment planning, housing, regional planning and transport planning. The M.Arch. program are open to those with B.Arch. degrees, B.Planning or equivalent degrees. For M.Arch. in industrial design, students with B.Arch. or equivalent degrees are eligible. The MBEM course is open to those with B.Arch., B.E./B.Tech. (civil) or equivalent degrees.Applicants should have obtained at least 55 per cent marks in aggregate in the qualifying examinations. SC/ST students need only 50 per cent marks. Selection is based on a test and interview.
The Government College of Engineering, Sreekariyam, Thiruvananthapuram, conducts an M.Arch. course with planning (housing) as a specialization. Five seats are available in the general category. Those with B.Tech. in civil engineering will be considered for admission. The Council of Architecture is a statutory regulatory body which deals with education in this field and any details regarding courses can be sought from it.
