What are the topics we have to know for entrance exam for architecture after diploma in civil engineering

Vedang Ranmale 8th Nov, 2021

Dear Phani,

Yes you can do architecture course after completing diploma course.
The candidate who has completed diploma in civil engineering is eligible for the architecture engineering course through the lateral entry scheme offered by the Engineering colleges in India. In this scheme, you can get admission for the second year in the Engineering course on the condition that you should have either completed diploma in Engineering or B.Sc course. Since you have completed diploma in civil engineering, you are eligible for entry in Engineering college via lateral entry scheme. Most of the Engineering institutes in India offer lateral entry scheme. They reserve around 15 percent seats every year for this entry scheme. The process of giving admission is different for each university. While some may ask you to appear in Lateral Entry Engineering Test (LEET), others would be happy to give you direct admission based on your performance in the diploma course.

Eligibility:

  • You need to have completed diploma in civil engineering from a recognised university.
  • You should score at least 60 percent marks in diploma course to appear in LEET entrance exam or to get direct admission.
  • There is however a possibility to get admission with 50 percent marks in diploma as well but there are very few colleges who grant admission with such percentage.

For more information on LEET exam and its syllabus click on the link below:

Hi ..... as per my 2021 ranks as a delhi student, i am getting IIT DELHI - CIVIL ENGINEERING or NSUT - CS ...... what will be the best choice among the two ?

Jiya Garg 25th Nov, 2021

Greetings!

Both of the college IIT Delhi and NSUT are consider to be among best college for engineering. But IIT Delhi will be consider best in terms of placement and college life. It totally depends on your area of interest whether interested in CS or civil engineering. If you have not decided any branch till yet then you should prefer IIT Delhi and pursue civil engineering from there only . You will get good exposure from their. Also if you perform good at college then you will get a good placement from there . But if your area of interest is CS then I would suggest NSUT only. Its placement facility is also excellent .many MNCs like Microsoft, Amazon come here with good offers. If you are further going to prepare for any competitive exam then you should know before hand that in NSUT ,you will have to satisfy 75% attendance criteria.

All the best!

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 3rd Nov, 2021

Hi

Your profile suggests that you are from Maharashtra so assuming that it is about mht cet

This is difficult to say as colleges cut off keeps changing every year depending upon factors like

-------------------) number of seats that are available for admission,

-------------------) number of students who appeared in the MHT CET examination,

-------------------) level of difficulty of the MHT CET  examination,

-------------------) performance of different students in the MHT CET examination,

-------------------) the category you belong etc

Anyway,

When we go through previous year trend then

>>>>>> with 76.48 percentile

what are the basic topic of physics we need to study for civil engineering in top nit colleges ?within I get into the college for 1st year

Mghv 2nd Nov, 2021

Dear Bidnu,

Yes, Physics is an integral part of Civil engineering, Using the concept of moment and force balance, bending moment and shear stress is determined. According to value of bending moment and shear stress further designing of member is done like how much cross section, steel, clear cover etc is required. So basically the force or moment balance is the basic physics that civil engineering apply for determining the stresses/moment at each member.

You can also refer to the syllabus of NIT's.

Hope this helps.

do I need labtop for civil engineering?

Yaseera Bhombal 2nd Nov, 2021
Hello Bindu,
Hope you are doing well.
For your query I would like to tell you there is no compulsory requirement of a laptop for enrolling into civil engineering.
Back in the past people have completed their degree in civil engineering even when laptops were not so common.
Yes there are some softwares that require a PC or laptop and do not run on smart phones but every college has facility to teach such softwares in the campus itself.
So there is no hard and fast requirement of laptop for civil engineering.
Hope that helps you..
