my percentile is 91.69 sc category rank is 1263 also state general merit number is 28556 any chance in COEP civil?

Bipasha 29th Jul, 2025

Your SC rank (1263) is decent, but COEP Civil is highly competitive. You can check exact prediction here:

If cutoff for SC in Civil at COEP drops close to your rank this year, then yes, you have a slight chance, especially in later rounds.

hello everyone myself Umesh I have done my schooling and bachelors in technology and civil engineering from Jammu and now I am planning to do M.TECH from Maharashtra Pune so is it possible for is there any college which allows in Kashmiri migrants quota to do so please give detailed information

Nikita shahi 25th Jul, 2025

Hi Umesh!

Thanks for your question. Yes, you can apply for M.Tech in colleges outside Jammu & Kashmir under the Kashmiri Migrant quota. Many AICTE-approved institutes and universities across states like Maharashtra, Delhi, Punjab, and Karnataka offer special quota seats for Kashmiri migrants. Since you’re planning to study in Pune, here’s what you should know. Colleges like COEP Technological University, VJTI Mumbai, and MIT-WPU do offer admissions under this quota but availability may vary each year depending on state-level DTE counselling.

You’ll need to apply through Maharashtra CAP and make sure you have all necessary documents like Kashmiri Migrant Certificate, Domicile, and relevant educational qualifications. During registration, select the option for Kashmiri Migrant and upload the required proofs. While each institute has its own intake under this quota it’s best to check the latest CAP brochure or contact individual colleges for M.Tech seat matrix updates. Admission is usually based on GATE score, but some colleges may also accept non-GATE candidates for vacant seats.

Hope this helps, and all the best for your M.Tech journey!

Which college is good for mtech in civil engineering ou or jntu

SEJAL JAIN 24th Jul, 2025

Hello

For M.Tech in Civil Engineering, JNTU Hyderabad (JNTUH) is generally considered better than Osmania University (OU) due to its higher NIRF ranking, better academic infrastructure, and relatively stronger placement support, especially in core engineering branches.

While OU is older and has a reputable legacy, JNTUH’s engineering programs are more structured and industry-aligned. However, placements in Civil Engineering at both universities are limited compared to fields like CSE, so students aiming for jobs should focus on skill-building alongside academics.

SEJAL JAIN 22nd Jul, 2025

Yes, since your home is far from the college, you may be eligible for hostel accommodation at Government Polytechnic College, Alapur, Budaun. Most government polytechnic colleges provide hostel facilities to outstation students based on availability and distance from home. You should contact the college administration or hostel warden as soon as possible to apply for a seat in the hostel. Carry your admission proof and ID documents while applying.

Sir, I am a student and i will passed my 12th in 2025 by commerce stream i want to my take diploma in civil engeneer how to get civil engeneer

Nikita shahi 21st Jul, 2025

Hii,

If you’re taken commerce in your class 12 and want to pursue a diploma in civil engineering, that’s definitely possible especially if you're passionate about building and designing structures. Many polytechnic colleges offer 3-year diploma courses in civil engineering that are open to students who’ve completed their 10th standard, but some institutes also allow 12th-pass students from other streams like commerce based on entrance tests or direct admission.

After your diploma, you can either start working as a junior engineer or site supervisor, or go for a lateral entry into a B.Tech/B.E. program in civil engineering. That means you’ll directly enter the second year of the degree course.

Thank you!

Is Civil branch is good for future

Nikita shahi 20th Jul, 2025

Hello,

Civil engineering can be a good choice for the future, especially if you're someone who enjoys designing, or working on real-world infrastructure like roads, buildings, and bridges. It’s one of the core engineering branches and has steady demand, particularly in government sectors like PWD, Railways, and even in private construction companies. The starting salary might not be as high as IT or CS fields, and the work often involves field visits, sometimes in remote areas. So, if you're okay with hands-on work and not just sitting at a desk, this field can offer a meaningful and stable career. And with further studies like M.Tech or MBA, you can grow even faster. Ultimately, it's a good option just make sure your interest matches the nature of the work.

Thank you!
