vikashkr894_9303636 Student Expert 19th Jun, 2019

Hi,

If you are interested to become a commercial pilot then, min requirement is 12th pass with Physics & Maths...After that

1. Clear DGCA class 2 medical and get your File Number.

2. Take an initial ground class for an experienced instructor.

3. Choose a good flight training school in USA, Canada, New Zealand (other than India) and take admission

4.Fly and log min of 200 hrs

5.Clear theory & flying exams and get your CPL

Being a Pilot I suggest you not to contact any agents or consultancy. Do not waste your money on them. You can directly join the flight schools for your CPL training, according to me if you look at the price, time and hours the USA is the best place for training

..

Training cost depends on the country & school you select,

In the USA the cost will be 16-22 lakh, duration 6 - 8 months, 250 hours

In New zealand, it will be 19-25 lakh, duration 1 year, 200 hours

In India, the same course will be around 28 - 30 lakh, duration 2 - 3 years, only 200 hours...

In regard to the job, If you study well and prove yourself, then you will get the job..No matter what the situation is...There are many pilots who have got the job recently in India..No airline want to hire a bad pilot. You should be good at flying and theory.

So all the best... Chase your Dreams... Never Give Up.

i want to become a commercial pilot . I m in 12th class ...plz suggest me what should i do ..i dont have any information about this field.

Ankur Dubey Student Expert 14th Jun, 2019
Hello

Process of admission :
In case you have passed  12th, you may join a CPL  training program .You may approach private institutes, fill forms and get started.

Most Pilot Training institutes have a Pilot Aptitude Test, which a candidate must clear, in order to get selected. The Aptitude test is a 3 stage process, comprising of- written examination, Interview and the Aptitude Test.

There are subjects in the written exam like- Mathematics, Geography, General Knowledge, English skills etc. This is followed by an Interview.

Candidates who clearedthese two stages are called for the third stage- Pilot Aptitude Test. After these final stages, medical examination is conducted. After all processes, a merit list is prepared, based on the all performance of candidates in each stage of the selection process as well as the medical examination. Based on merit, deserving candidates will be selected and they provide pilot trainingto become Commercial Pilots!

I hope it will help you
Good luck ...

I am in science stream can i become a pilot

harshita_1558773432 Student Expert 7th Jun, 2019

Hi Jyoti

The job of a pilot is a highly specialised one. It requires knowledge of air navigation, interpretation of meteorological reports, operating sophisticated electronic and mechanical controls, leading the aircraft under adverse circumstances, and being a leader to the flight crew and passengers under climatic and other emergency situations.

You are responsible for the passengers, the crew and the aircraft. Hence you must have discipline, patience, responsibility, punctuality, commitment and self-confidence.

Basic eligibility criteria

  • You must complete Class XII under the 10+2 system or its equivalent with a minimum of 50 per cent marks in maths and physics.
  • You must be at least 16 years of age to be eligible for a Student Pilot License, 17 for a Private Pilot License, and 18 for a Commercial Pilot License.
  • Alternatively, you could directly enroll for the Private Pilot License once you have cleared Class XII and are 17 years old. This involves taking an exam conducted by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation* consisting of theory papers on air navigation, aviation meteorology, air regulation and technical aspects.
  • Your vision in one eye must be perfect. In general medical terminology, it is called 6/6 eyesight. In the other eye, you could have an imperfection of 6/9, which must be correctable to 6/6.
  • General physical fitness is mandatory. You must be free of any disease that can hamper normal function.
  • You need to complete the requisite number of hours, clear written papers and the medical examination. You need 70 percent marks to pass in each of these papers. You can keep appearing until you clear them.

Hope this helps you

Good luck!!

How we be a commercial pilot and what degree it requires

sudeepta 30th May, 2019

If you aspire to become a commercial pilot, you will be required to complete flying training from any flying school which is recognized by the DGCA. DGCA is the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. So make sure to select a flying school recognised by DGCA before enrolling. Also ensure that the institute has sufficient facilities, lab, instructors and more.

There are various type of training programmes offered by Flying schools like

SPL ie. Student Pilot License

PPL ie. Private Pilot License

CPL ie. Commercial Pilot License

So in order to become a commercial pilot, select a school which offers CPL training programme.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA-

The eligibility criteria in most of the flying schools is that to become a commercial pilot you must pass your 12th board exams with subjects- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Different schools might prescribe a minimum aggregate as per their own requirements. Other than this, they also lay down specific physical as well as medical eligibility criteria related to height, eyesight etc.

COST INVOLVED-

The cost involved in order to complete commercial pilot training will differ from institute to institute. You can keep an estimate around 25 Lakhs to 35 Lakhs Rupees for the entire course.

Additional Course details-

For completion of this course as prescribed by DGCA you need to complete a minimum of 200 hours of training to complete the course. After completion too it is very essential to get Type Rating which is an additional certificate which includes additional training too. The cost of this will also be additional.

Hope this helps.

Thank you

how to be a pilot and which are best college for it

Apurva anand 21st May, 2019

Hello Shad, It's interesting to see that you have broken off from the crowd and decided to do something different. Well for becoming a commercial pilot you have to follow the following steps:

Step 1. Enroll in a Flying School and Pursue B.Sc. in Aviation

This admission procedure generally consists of the following:

Written Examination- The test encompasses general English, Math’s, Physics and Reasoning (10+2 standard).

Pilot Aptitude Test- The test will assess your aptitude on Air Regulation, Air Navigation, Aviation Meteorology, Aircraft, and Engine Knowledge

Personal Interview and DGCA Medical examination- The candidates succeeding in written examination and aptitude test will be required to take a medical assessment conducted by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India.

Step 2. Obtain a Student Pilot License

To obtain a student pilot license, you would have to appear for an entrance examination. This consists of an Oral test and will be taken by the Chief Instructor at the School, or the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) representative. This license allows you to get flying training and permits you to take off flights on gliders or small planes that are generally provided by approved flying clubs of the country.

By the time you complete your course, you should have completed a minimum of 250 flying hours, following which you can apply for the Commercial Pilot License (CPL).

Some of the leading institutes for pursuing an Aviation course:

● Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Academy (IGRUA), Rae Bareilly
● Rajiv Gandhi Academy of Aviation Technology, Kerala
● National Flying Training Institute, Gondia
● Bombay Flying Club, Mumbai
● Ahmedabad Aviation & Aeronautics Ltd., Ahmedabad
● Madhya Pradesh Flying Club (MPFC), Indore
● CAE Oxford Aviation Academy, Gondia,
● Indigo Cadet Training Program, (Hamilton, New Zealand & Hyderabad, India)

Note: Every institute has its respective specifications concerning physical fitness, and eyesight specifically.

Additionally, I would like to point out that the cost to become a commercial pilot in India is quite high, somewhere around 15 to 20 lakh Indian Rupees. However, there is an alternative way to become a pilot in India without paying such high fees, and that is by joining the Indian Defense Forces. Read on for more information.

I have secured 71.45% in my jee main exam...n I got 6987 all India rank in ST category will I be eligible for air india academy....

HIMANI CHOUDHARY 1st May, 2019
Hi, there is no such academy for commercial pilots that gives admission on the basis of JEE Mains. So whatever you have scored has nothing to do with your getting admission in any flight academy. For becoming a commercial pilot you need to be good with your physics and maths and have scored a minimum 55% in both the subjects. After every flight academy has its own admission process but none of them give admission on basis of JEE mains. All the best!

I want become a commercial pilot ,what are the steps involved

Vidhita Sachdeva 29th Apr, 2019

Hello!

To become a Commercial pilot, one must complete flying training from a flying school recognized by DGCA. Flying schools across India offer different flying training programs. Such training programmes lead students to various types of flying licenses such as SPL (Student Pilot License), PPL (Private Pilot License) and CPL (Commercial Pilot License). To become a commercial pilot, enroll for the CPL training program. You must have passed 10+2 Science stream with PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with minimum 50% aggregate marks, to be considered eligible to join a flying school.

Flying schools conduct an entrance test to select deserving candidates. Candidates who clear the entrance test are subjected to physical and medical tests. Candidates who clear all the stages are allotted seats. So, basically there are 3 steps:

1. Satisfy eligibility criteria- Fulfil the minimum qualification requirements and eligibility criteria, as mentioned above. Besides the academics, you should also qualify other criteria, such as height, eyesight requirements etc.

2.  Clear the entrance test and medical test- If you are eligible to join a flying school, apply for the same. Fill up the application form and appear for the relevant entrance test conducted by the DGCA and score valid marks in it. After clearing the written test, you need to undergo medical and physical tests under the supervision of a DGCA approved medical officer or examiner.

3. Join the flying school and undergo training- After joining flying school, you will be provided flight training as well as classroom lectures. To obtain a CPL, you must complete 200 hours of flying. Undergo the training, complete it and clear the tests held by DGCA. This will help you get CPL. After completing flying training and clearing relevant tests, you will be awarded CPL.

You may start applying for jobs after that but it is suggested to get type rating. Type rating is a certification to fly a certain aircraft type that requires additional training.
