I am currently working and completed my graduation (BA in Political Science) & MA (Economics) through distance learning (IGNOU). I have been working for more than 5 years now in back office opertaions. Now planning to pursue US CPA & certification in Data Science and ML. Would that be a good option?

monag2673 25th Jul, 2024

This could be a good option, but it depends on your career goals. Here's why:

  • Strengths: US CPA adds financial expertise and data science/ML opens doors to tech and analytics roles.
  • Considerations: Both require significant time commitment. Is your workload manageable?
  • Alignment: Do these fields complement your current work (e.g., data analysis in finance)?

Recommendation: Research data science/ML applications in finance. If aligned with your interests, this combo could be a powerful career move. However, ensure you can handle the workload and consider focusing on one first.

hope this helps you!!

Tanya Gupta 16th Nov, 2024

Hello

Shifting from PCM to (link unavailable) Economics can be a valuable career move. Economics offers a broad range of career opportunities in fields like finance, banking, research, and policy-making. With a strong foundation in mathematics from PCM, you'll be well-equipped to tackle economic theories and statistical analysis.

How much fees of MA economics?

Ishita 18th Jul, 2024

Hello Aspirant,

A course in MA Economics is offered in many institutes, colleges, and universities like DU, BHU, etc. The fees of this course heavily depends on the college that you have joined. If it's a government college or University, your whole course could be done within 10,000/-. In Bangalore University, the total fee is 10,000 for three years, DU it's 14,340/-, in BHU it's 9,528/-.

This will differ if you are admitted to a private university. The fee could be as high as 2lacs. In Christ University it is 95,000/- per year, in St Xavier's Mumbai it is 1,25,000/- per year.

Fees range differs a lot from college to college, this has no relation, whatsoever, to the quality of education. Still, I would recommend for you to choose a government institution.

Hope this helps.

So I have boards this year and Im a pretty good student and I expect to get 95% above in boards and I want to get admission here for my fyjc however I am from icse board and in group 2 I took commerce and economics as my subjects not maths so am I eligible for admission without maths in 11th

monag2673 2nd Sep, 2024

Yes, you are eligible for admission to FYJC (First Year Junior College) in Commerce without having Mathematics in your ICSE board subjects. Most colleges offer Commerce streams without requiring Mathematics as a mandatory subject in 10th grade. Since you’ve taken Commerce and Economics in Group 2, you can pursue Commerce in 11th grade without any issues.

In the Commerce stream for FYJC, you typically study subjects like Accounts, Economics, Business Studies, and English, among others. Mathematics is often offered as an optional subject, and you can choose whether or not to take it based on your interests and career goals.

If you aim to pursue courses like B.Com, CA, or other commerce-related programs in the future, not having Mathematics in 11th and 12th won’t be a barrier. However, if you’re considering careers in finance, economics, or certain business fields where advanced mathematics might be beneficial, you could opt for Mathematics as an elective in FYJC, if available.

It’s advisable to check with the specific colleges you’re interested in for their exact admission criteria and subject requirements, as some prestigious institutions might have their own guidelines.

can I get admission in ipu cet in ba economics in rank of 2307

G PAVAN KUMAR 2nd Oct, 2024

You should probably be worried about your rank rather than your marks, a rank 1.4k can get you into a good college, but a good college For students from outside Delhi, a rank of at least 1500 is necessary for admission to a good college, whereas for those within Delhi, a rank of around 2500 is required to be in the top 5. Scoring 215 out of 400 in IPU CET would likely rank around 10,000 to 15,000. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates with an aggregate of 50% marks in the 10+2 level examination compulsory study at the 10+2 level from a recognized State and Central Government Board with Mathematics and English compulsory subjects at the 10+2 level I am sorry to say but there are very few chances of you getting a college in ipu in bba at this rank. Generally the cutoff ranks falls under 1000 rank in ipu CET for bba. Therefore, it is always very difficult to get a college at this rank

I have got 953 rank in IPU-CET economics, I am from gernral You need at least 1500 rank to get a good college as an outside Delhi student, and if you are inside delhi student you at least need 2500 rank to be in top 5. Marks above 350 is a very good score in IPU CET. With this score, you will get admission to your desired course at IPU easily, Marks below 300 is a good score and if your score in less than 250 it is considered an average score in IPU CET For students from outside Delhi, a rank of at least 1500 is necessary for admission to a good college, whereas for those within Delhi, a rank of around 2500 is required to be in the top 5. Right Now Im pursuing BBA from Panjab University. And I want to pursue Ma Economics. Which Coaching I should go for Or no coaching is required?

Nitin Kumar 8th Jun, 2024

If you have a strong foundation in economics, statistics, and mathematics from your BBA program, you might be able to prepare for the entrance exam effectively on your own.  The difficulty level of the entrance exam you'll be taking can influence your decision. Highly competitive exams might benefit from structured coaching.

Some students thrive in a structured learning environment with guidance from experienced faculty. Others prefer self-paced study with resources like textbooks and online materials.

Coaching for MA Economics:

Benefits:

  • Structured Learning: Coaching institutes provide a structured curriculum and regular classes to ensure you cover all the necessary topics.

  • Experienced Faculty: Coaching centers have faculty who can explain complex economic concepts clearly and address your doubts.

  • Mock Tests and Practice Papers: Coaching institutes conduct mock tests and provide practice papers to help you get familiar with the exam format and improve your time management skills.

  • Peer Learning: Studying in a classroom environment allows for interaction with other students preparing for the same exam, fostering peer learning and healthy competition.

Drawbacks:

  • Cost: Coaching classes can be expensive, depending on the institute's reputation and location.

  • Time Commitment: Attending coaching classes requires additional time management alongside your BBA studies.

Self-Study for MA Economics:

Benefits:

  • Flexibility: You can study at your own pace and convenience, scheduling your learning around your BBA coursework.

  • Cost-Effective: Self-study eliminates the cost of coaching classes.

Drawbacks:

  • Self-Discipline: You need strong self-discipline to stay motivated and on track with your study plan.

  • Structured Guidance: You might miss out on the structured learning approach and guidance offered by coaching institutes.

  • Limited Practice: You need to find good quality practice papers and mock tests to simulate the actual exam experience.

Tell me about ba in economics degree its fees ,duration.

Ishita 20th Jul, 2024

Hello Aspirant

BA in economics course is a course that is offered for a bachelor's degree. BA Economics can either be a general course or honors, it depends on the college, which one they offer. An Honors course is deemed to be good because that counts as a professional course.

The fee for a BA in Economics will differ depending on the type of university (Private or government). Here's a list of colleges/universities and their fee

DU- 13,340/-

BHU- 5,950/-

Delhi School of Economics-9,965/- (for 1 year)

Hyderabad University- 10,000/- (for 1 year)

DES Pune University- 2,4,000 (total)

BA Economics or any Bachelor's course used to be only 3 years, but after the introduction of NEP, its now of 4 years, after which you can directly pursue your PhD. But the 4 years is not a compulsion, you can do a 3-year course also, there is no restriction.

Hope this helps
