I have completed my 12th with PCM with 86%. In IGNOU for taking BSCG under CBCS, they said we are free to take any 3 combination of subjects based on our own interest. Am I eligible to take Chemistry Geology Zoology as my combination?

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 31st Oct, 2021

hi,

bachelor of science is 3 years course which is open distance learning course. now see IGNOU has many regional centers as per state wise, so the subject combinations are available in regional centers for the reference study purpose and materials for studies. however in official site of Ignous has mathematics, chemisty, geology and physics materials. yes you are eligible to take the combinations as per your interest. you may contact with the nearest regional centers for more clarity in this matter.

follow the below link to get details on regional centers.

pdwords Student Expert 21st Oct, 2021

Hello,

You can apply for MSc Biotechnology through IIT JAM for that you need to pass graduation from a recognized university securing 55% aggregate, there is relaxation of 5% for reserved categories, candidates in their final year too can apply provisionally, in case of MSc Biotechnology candidates are just required to have studied biology at 10+2 level when it comes to graduation there is no such restrictions of having specific subject combinations, you can go through our page at https://university.careers360.com/articles/jam-eligibility-criteria to know more details regarding this.

is that good to take botany and english for geology honours? if no then what combination is good for geology honours

Shamik Debnath 6th Sep, 2021

Hiii

The two courses are acceptable. Many individuals don't know about Geology Hons and it has the two perspectives. It's accessible in not very many universities Hansraj being the prominent and classes are generally held in the Faculty of Geology and very little in school. Exceptionally less understudies apply for it so less rivalry however a decent choice in case you are intrigued. English Hons gets part of consideration alongside the Competition. More freedoms likewise accompany that. All the very best!

main geology ke sath botany and english liya hai per kya mujhe physics and chemistry lena chahiye tha? i mean aage jake mujhe koi problem toh nhi hoga na kisika form bharme mai, ya fir mujhe change kra lena chahiye?please clear my confusen.

Purbayan Chatterjee 7th Sep, 2021

Hi Srishti,

Hope you are doing fine. Considering the fact you have taken Botany and English with Geology, there are ample career options in this domain. However, definitely had you taken Physics and Chemistry instead, you would have had a wider choice criteria. If you want to remain eligible for almost all the exams, you might want to change your subjects.

However, with the choice of current subjects, you still have many career paths open.

Hope this helps.

kya mai geology honours se degree lene ke baad bhi neet ka form bhar sakti hu? please reply yes or no.

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 4th Sep, 2021

Hi

Yes , you are eligible for appearing in NEET  examination even after geology hons degree

This is because,

There is no rule which says that if you complete  geology hons degree or any other graduation you become ineligible for Neet examination, as to be eligible for neet what all one needs is :

* to must have passed 12th board examination with physics, chemistry ,biology/biotechnology and English and must have got:-

  • at least  50  % in aggregate of PCB  i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology  in 12th examination  if belongs to general category

  • at least  40%  in aggregate of PCB if belongs to  Obc/ Sc /st category

  • at least 45 % in aggregate of PCB in case of pwd candidates to be eligible.

So, if you fulfill this requirement  as per your category then you are definitely eligible for Neet  examination ,even if you completed graduation and after qualifying Neet examination you can get admission in medical colleges for MBBS etc on the basis of rank or marks obtained by you in NEET

Also,

*there is no upper age limit for Neet examination as of now.

For detailed information about neet examination go through our page forl which link is provided below; -
