Instrumentation Engineering
dear student,
If you are from any IITs or NITs, it doesn't make any difference in terms of job career.EIE is, you are right, very theory based subject, the core subjects of measurements and instruments are 95 % theory but are very interesting. The control part (which is common with ECE) is mathematical cum concept based.Career wise, though ECE being far more popular than EIE, I believe EIE has more career scope in India than ECE.
Hope it helps!!
Instrumentation is an emerging branch so you have a lots of scope available. It can be referred to as a ‘mixture’ of different subjects that can be the launch pad for many careers.
4. You can also opt for a job in software industries like HCL and TCS.
5. Have a scope in PSU's.
GOOD LUCK
Hello,
They do offer decent placements with foog packages
Hey! Hi Shilpa Mohandas.
INSTRUMENTATION Engineering is an ALLIED Feild to MECHANICAL and ELECTRICAL Engineering which basically deals with Instruments, their Control systems and their Automation.
Hope this helps you.
Thanks.
Hey Kaushik
The placement scenario of KGEC in your preferred college is not appreciable. Most of the students that get placed are from CS or IT branch. They assure that students of other branches also get placed and yes ,they are but just 1 or 2 students out of 60 ( I have just told the ratio).
Hope it helps!
Hello Santhosh,
Both of them are quite good. In Instrumentation, MIT has received special recognition from DST-PURSE and DST-FIST. Placement has been recorded in core companies/IT/banking finance and management jobs.
The electronics dept is also supported by DST FIST and UGC SAP DRS Phase II. It has recorded almost a 100% placement from 2007-08 which has been maintained at 60+% till date.
Hello Sabarissh,
If you have interest in Electronics Device Designing, Sensor, Controlling etc then you can go for This branch. Nature of work of an instrumentation engineer ranges from designing, developing, installing, managing equipments that are used to monitor and control machinery. Instruments at home and elsewhere is only because of the science of instrumentation.
You can get job as Shift Engineer or Instrumentation Engineer in various PSUs and other energy sector companies.
Good Luck.
INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEERING always has better Placements as compared to that of POLYMER SCIENCE because INSTRUMENTATION is an allied branch to MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL and ELECTRONICS.
So overall it is good branch to pursue engineering.
Hi Subham,
As per your rank, you are eligible for Jadavpur University in Instrumentation and Electronics Engineering. The cut off rank for Instrumentation and Electronics Engineering is around 4000 and you are way ahead of that.
Thank you and best of luck.
