I have scored 51.33 and my AIR is 496 in open category in iit jam biotechnology. Is there any college and course accepting this score? Where should I apply and what are the possibilities of getting a seat?

Harsha Sinha 19th Mar, 2020

Hi there,

Congratulations on your achievement. According to your marks and rank you can get almost all the NITs and Some IITs as well. You can even get IIsc.

As according to careere360 the cut off for biotechnology this year is 39.86 for open category and your marks is better than the cut off So you have a very bright chance of getting any of the above college.

I hope this help

Regards, Harsha Sinha

Hi,
There is a very very slim chance next to impossible to get admission into NIT and IIT with 33.33arks and AIR 2428 you can aim for private colleges like Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal,School of Engineering and Applied Science, Ahmedabad ,Maharishi Markandeshwar Mullana University,COER - College of Engineering Roorkee,LPU,etc

Hi,

Well the chances are really low but still there is no harm in applying. You cannot know when what would happen. So I would recommend you to apply for counseling and wait even if the chances of admission is low and you can know better later.

I hope my answer helps.

All the best.

I got 19 in iit jam biotechnology. I belong to Sc category. do I have any chances of getting a seat in IISc or in any other institute.

lubhan cherwoo 23rd Feb, 2020
Hi,
It is quite uncertain and difficult to evaluate the rank for the marks right now but according to past year trends you will surpass the cutoff, but that does not guarantee an addmission, and according to past year trends the cutoff for IISC and IITs goes quite high ,so would suggest you to wait for the actual result.

got 18.9 in iit jam biotechnology, any chances of getting a seat in IISC or in other institutes, I belong to Sc category.

lubhan cherwoo 21st Feb, 2020
With 18.9 marks in IIT JAM biotechnology from SC category you have a very skim chance of qualifying for any of the top University is in India as cutoff for Biotechnology are quite high. It would be difficult to evaluate the rank from the marks you have provided, but looking at the previous year trends you crossed the cutoff for passing iit jam biotechnology( cutoff for iit jam Biotechnology for sc category are around 12), so I would suggest you to wait for the actual result
