I got 93 percentile in jee main 2022.....i dont think that i can get admission in top NITs with this percentile.....I am A dropper..now iam thinking about drop again for NIT.....is it worth??

jhasuyash006 23rd Jul, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

Congratulations for your result. Since you have not mentioned your category so considering it to be general. With 93 percentile your rank will be around 71610 - 80500. You can also verify your rank by using our rank predictor tool for which the link is given below:

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor

Yes it not possible to get top NITs at this rank with general category. In my opinion, if you are confident enough to get admission in top NITs next year then you can go for it. Just check the eligibility criterion for it.

In addition to this, I would like to add that you can still get government colleges with this rank under JOSAA counselling. you can predict the list of colleges for which you are eligible by clicking on the link given below:

I scored 83.326 percentile in JEE MAIN 2022. I am general category. In which nit I can get seat?

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 17th Jul, 2022

Hi

This difficult to predict as cut off keeps changing every year  depending upon various factors like

----------) number of students/ candidates  that appeared in the  jee main exam,

-----------) number of available seats,

-----------) jee main examination difficulty level.

-----------) branch preference by different candidates

-----------) the category you belong etc.

But yes,

When we go through previous year trend then ,

Under other state quota , closing rank for some of the nits for which closing rank goes low are listed below along with their closing rank in the 6th round of josaa counselling 2021 for general category  :-

------------------) National Institute of Technology , Nagaland, Civil Engineering :- 57952

------------------) National Institute of Technology, Mizoram :- Civil Engineering:-58055

------------------) National Institute of Technology Agartala :- Chemistry (5 Years, Bachelor of Science and Master of Science (Dual Degree)) :- 58734

You can check the same at its official website for which link is given below:-

JOSAA 2021 cut off :- https://josaa.nic.in/Counseling/seatallotmentresult/currentorcr.aspx

So, to get a seat in NITs, you need at least around 55k - 58k rank, and for that you need at least around 95 percentile as per past year trends

Thus

  • with your 83.326 percentile chances for NITs is very low.

Sandesh 17th Jul, 2022

Hey there!

Well as per the latest updates, there is no barrier of 12th percentage for appearing JEE Mains 2022, however for the admission at various NITs, IIITs and CFTIs students have to passed 12th examination with a minimum 75% or should be in top 20 percentile for general category.

and at least 65% in class 12th for SC/ST students.

I got 57%ile in jee main 2022 and I did no preparation for it but i took a drop for jee 2023 is it possible to get 99.9%ile in jee main 2023

nikhil singh 16th Jul, 2022

Surely you will get your desired percentile, but for that you have to start working hard from now onward.

Still you have approx 9 to 12 months left for next jee mains examination.

Start preparing from the best course gou can afford.

If you can't afford offline services go for online platform such as Unacademy , PW, Byjus and many more . Gi for good books such as HC verma and DC pandey for physics, Cengage for mathematics and NCERT as well as Cengage for chemistry. Try to solve as much as question you can in these 1 year time gap. Make sure tou give regular mock test to analyse your strength and weaknesses.

Hope this makes you understand what to do for next 1 year.

Pro Gaming 14th Jul, 2022

Hello,

As per the previous year's cutoff of OBC NCL for jee advanced you're eligible to give jee advanced 2022. But this percentile won't ensure you any good college. Better to improve in your score in further attempts upto 95%tile to get a good college. Also, visit this site to know more about jee the main cutoff.

Hi

This difficult to predict as cut off keeps changing every year  depending upon various factors like

You can check the same at its official website for which link is given below:-
