Hello abhay,
The NTA score and percentile are same things, they are your marks out of 100 after normalisation.
The normalisation process is simple and formula based, it depends on your shift, difficulty of examination, session and your marks also.
Your friend given examination in different shift and difficulty of his examination was higher than yours.
You can check out our rank predictor and also college predictor for more information and maybe it will clear your doubt in a better way.

Hi Buddy,
I am also shocked due to change in trend of Percentile vs marks. But it's due to the reason that most of the students have high marks than usual. Since % of students who scored equal to or less than your marks have been decreased in that particular session. This happened with 18th March shift 2 also.
All predictors will come with disclaimers that their prediction is subjected to changes. Trends are again changing this year i guess.
by the way, if number of students getting some mark is increased, the paper is considered easy . But paper was of moderate difficultly. No one predicted such change in number of students achieving some mark. I am not saying that predictors did perfect job either. it's just calculation with past trends, subjected to changes. I'm not supporting anyone here!
Thank You!
