I am a final year student of Bachelor of Science. I want to pursue MSc-PhD in Industrial Engineering in Operations Research at IIT-Bombay. I had studied Mathematics for 2 years in my Bachelors and now I am preparing for JAM exam in Mathematics which will be held in 2023. Am I eligible?

Anurag Khanna 27th Feb, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

As per the eligibility criteria released by IIT Roorkee for JAM 2022 you would be considered as eligible for JAM 2023 (JAM 2023 eligibility criteria would hardly have some changes) because as per the eligbility criteria if you want to pursue M.Sc.- Ph.D. Dual Degree in Operations Research from IIT Bombay then you should  have Mathematics or Statistics for at least two years/ four semesters and you have mentioned in the question that you had studies Mathematics for 2 years during your Bachelor's programme, so you would be eligible.

You can check out detailed eligibility criteria from the link given below :-

IIT JAM Eligibility Criteria 2022 - Academic Qualification, Marks, Age (careers360.com)

But note that above eligibility criteria is for JAM 2022 because till now JAM 2022 has not been conducted and for 2023 new brochure will be released but usually the eligibility criteria remains same for every year except that of some minor changes. So make sure to check out the eligibility criteria for 2023 as well.

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck!!

after completing engeenering in electonics and communication am i eligible for msc physics or electronics or mathematics

Drishti Yadav 18th Jan, 2022

Dear student,

MSc in physics eligibility:

  • BSc degree in physics, chemistry and mathematics with 55% is required. Thus with engineering in electronics and communication it isn't possible to do MSc physics if you don't have PCM at your graduation level.

MSc in electronics eligibility:

  • BSc in physics/electronics/computer science with a 50% score in the graduation level, thus you will be eligible for MSc in electronics with engineering in electronics.

MSc in mathematics eligibility:

  • Graduation with 50% score in BSc with mathematics as a compulsory subject, thus if you have mathematics in your graduation level you may do MSc in mathematics easily.

Also you can check the eligibility for each course depending on the college/university in which you are willing to take admission since it will help you to get a fair idea of necessary requirements because the above mentioned criteria is on a general basis , however with a change in college or university the specific criteria for each course needs to be taken into account with institutions also conducting entrance examinations for certain courses.

how to prepare gat - b exam and also gat b exam pattern consist two parts ,part-a 10 +2 mathematics, Physics, chemistry, biology .my doubt is my background is science background how should i prepare mathematics and what are the books to get good score in part a including all subjects.

keshav kumar 18th Jan, 2022

Hi aspirant,

Hope you are doing great.

Graduate Aptitude Test-Biotechnology is a national-level exam conducted once a year.

So the syllabus of this exam is huge but you don't have to cover each and everything just study those topics which have been covered in bachelors and focus only on important topics.

The exam consists of 2 sections.

Part A: 60 compulsory questions, 1 marks for each correct answer, Negative marking of ½ marks for each incorrect answer.

Part B: 60 questions to be attempted out of 100, 3 marks for each correct answer, Negative marking of -1 marks for each incorrect answer.

Part A of the exam will consist the 10+2 level questions of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology so for this you have to complete NCERT first and along with that you can go for HC Verma, Maths from RD Sharma for physics and for chemistry OP Tandon, Objective Biology by Dinesh are best. Now the part B will have a graduation level question from Biology, Life Sciences, Biotechnology so for that you have to study those books which you have studied in your undergraduation. In addition you can go for  Biotechnology by Saras Publications, and Biotechnology by R C dubey.

Hope this helps.

Im bsc final year mathematics student so I ask what is drt and brt medical course and how is beneficial for me?

dhanshree1501 22nd Feb, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

I hope you are doing well.

I believe you're referring to the bachelor in radiation technology and the diploma in radiation technology, the former of which is a two-year undergraduate course and the latter of which is a three-year undergraduate course. These are basically courses in which knowledge about the treatment of illness is imparted, with theoretical and practical application of radio diagnostic technology, medical imaging, radiographic techniques, procedures involving patient care, and so on, see. However, you should keep in mind that these courses are two to three years long, and you're already a mathematics graduate, so what about your BSc Maths Degree? It would be far better if you pursue higher studies such as MSc, then appear for CSIR NET/SET at the state level, after which you can teach in colleges after passing these exams; however, BEd is required for teaching in schools; alternatively, you can pursue MBA if you're interested in management domain; these courses.

I hope this helps.

Good Luck
