Im a sc student score 400+ marks in neet it may chance to get government college mbbs seat

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 15th Jun, 2021

Hi

You have not mentioned your domicile state but your profile suggests that you are from Telangana so I am assuming it as your domicile state

Making prediction is difficult as cut off  marks to get a seat in a medical college is quite difficult but when we go through previous year trends then

With 400 marks your chances for government medical colleges is low.

For example,

In neet 2019 ,  426 for sc category was the cut off marks/ lowest marks  that got an mbbs seat in a government medical college under Telangana  state quota  and it was for GOVT MEDICAL COLLEGE, SURYAPET

You can check the same at

https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-cutoff-telangana

But yes,

cut  off   marks / rank   for medical colleges keeps changing every year  depending upon various factors like  number of students that appeared in the neet examination, kind of marks obtained by students  in neet , toughness level of the neet examination, number of seats available etc.

So ,  you should try to get at least 50 marks  more in comparison of Neet 2019 in your Neet 2021 Examination to be on the safer side, so you should try to get at least around 480 marks.

Now , limited time is left for your neet 2021 examination, so focus on preparation, go through the chapters , practise questions and then revise them, go through mock test papers once you are done with complete syllabus. To help you in your preparation we have neet knockout for you :- https://learn.careers360.com/knockout-neet

i am studying mbbs 1st year in osmania Medical College, telangana. how to read standerd books in mbbs 1st year? how to get addict to those gold standard books?

Yadav Santripti 13th Jun, 2021
Hey...hope you are doing good.
First year of med school can be taxing as such because you have made the biggest jump in your life you will realize that having taken biology stream in 11th and 12th helps you but not that much because you will find that the anatomy physiology you studied in higher secondary was just a tip of the ice Berg so buckle up

Coming to the question I think you should start to study at least 2days before the internals and by studying I don't mean slogging give it a 3hour run through each day that's it but whatever you read, read carefully give emphasis on the details, I do know that each and every time we read in a hurry we promise ourselves to come back and read well again but that again part never really comes for many of us and as we enter clinics in second year we find our basics shaky and chiding ourselves for not studying properly so what I suggest is reading well the first time so that at least something stays in you .
Make notes, daigrams with colours.

Please do attend lectures not just for the sake of attendance because you never know what might go inside your head and the unexpected times that these things pop out to bail you out the most common case scenario being your viva so attending classes do help.

what should be the minimum score for schedule caste aspirant in neet to get a MBBS seat in government medical college

Anurag Khanna 13th Jun, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

See there is no any fixed minimum marks for securing government seat or government college for MBBS through NEET but as per the previous years analysis and taking the increment in cut-offs from past 3-4 years into consideration if you belongs to SC category then you should secure at least 450+ out of 720 in NEET for state quota seats in Government medical colleges and 540+ in NEET for All India quota seats in Government medical colleges but if you want to get admission in AIIMS/JIPMER like central institutions then you should aim for at least 600+ out of 720 in NEET 2021.

Note that above prediction is as per the trends of previous years and this might get changed with some variations depending upon factors like :-

** Number of candidates appearing for NEET

** difficulty level of paper

** top score of this year and so on..

How many mark does with a child with EWS (GENERAL ) need to get MBBS seat in government medical colleges....?

Sharon Rose Student Expert 4th Jun, 2021

Hello,

You need to score the minimum cut off marks specified by a college in which you are interested to seek admission. The cut off for Government Medical Colleges are higher compared to private colleges. Each year the cut off changes for each college and it is different for state quota seats and All India Quota seats. You need to score minimum 560-580 marks or above in NEET to get admission in to a Government Medical College under EWS category. Cut off depends on various factors like total number of seats available, difficulty level of examination and total number of candidates appeared. can anyone has a chance to get MBBS seat with just qualifying in NEET?

snigdha vig 22nd Apr, 2021

Hi,

NEET is one of the most competitive exam as they are a large number of students who apply and there are a limited number of seats. So, to get a seat for MBBS is next to impossible with just qualification marks even if you have reservation. However, there might be some chances in private colleges, but they charge a huge amount of fees.

Here is a link from where you can get both rank and marks cut offs for colleges:

I hope this helped you.

What are my chances of getting a seat in jipmer karaikal mbbs seat through stray vacancy with my neet rank 57410 and obc rank 24760?

Abhishek Khurana 27th May, 2021

Hi student,

I would like to inform you that as Jipmer is a very Prestigious College of India and is one of the topper of the best medical colleges list in india. So to get admission into it you need to score a very high rank but i am afraid that is not in your case as the cutoff of Jipmer Karaikal will be under 1000 rank so you cannot get that college this year.

Through Stray Vacancy round also you cannot get admission into Jipmer this year as the no of seats which reach the stray vacancy rounds are very less so you need to consider other possibilities preferably in your state mostly.

You can also use our collage predictor to understand your standing in the competetion:-

https://medicine.careers360.com/neet-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer .

You can read about the cutoff of Neet for a few previous years in the Following link:-

Thank You.

if I get 450+ marks in neet 2021 can I get mbbs seat in karnataka in obc category

suchayitaanusaha 20th May, 2021

Hello,

If you are OBC candidate then you will definitely get any medical college in Karnataka. Because 450+ marks in NEET examination for reserve candidate is ideal score. You can get private medical college with government quota..so your fees will be low than the private medical colleges. But if you get admission in government medical college then you have to get more marks in NEET. Then you will get government medical college.

All the best.
