My NEET 2020 AIR is 48395, score 551 under UR category from Odisha. UR category rank is 20126. Can I get a MBBS seat in Govt college

Nandhini Student Expert 26th Oct, 2020

Hello student,

With a rank of around 48,000 in the neet exam, it becomes difficult to procure a seat in the government medical colleges when comparing the results of the previous years as the closing ranks were around 38,000 for the Hi tech medical college and hospital.

Yet, ranks and scores vary each year depending on state quotas, difficulty level of the question paper and so on. However, you can also predict the colleges which you are likely to get using the below mentioned link:

As of now its tough to say which college you can get into because the cutoff changes every year with college and this year the cutoff went high.but with previous year analysis, your rank, category we can find you possibilties into colleges.with your score and last year analysis you can have chances in:

nimra institute of medical scinces

PES institute of medical sciences

santiram medical college

note that this year the cutoff rose by 30-40 marks more and this caused the ranks increased by thousands,so its little difficult to predict, for more info about cutoffs check: https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-cutoff-ap

Hello applicant,

*Yes   the seats are going to increase it has been informed that 14,000 more seats are going to be added in 2020-2021.And you can verify from official Website. And this is a good news for the students who have applied for NEET UG 2020. And seats are going to increase every year as when we compare to 2018-2019 there were 60,680 seats and in 2019 to 2020 seats were gradually increased 25 % from previous year making it to 75,543. finally I  wanna covey that you don't need to worry about the seats if you are interested in studying MBBS you can go for it .

Hello Aspirant,

According to your marks in general category your rank is very low approximate 1,94,000 - 2,25,000 and at this rank it is very difficult to get any government college. But you can go for private college counselling their you can get seat.

I have got 597 marks in neet 2020, air rank 21216, gen rank 9788, domicile of up, what is chance of getting govt mbbs seat in aiq/state counselling.

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 26th Oct, 2020

Hi

You have not mentioned the category you belong to, so I am  assuming  you from general category

It's quite difficult to predict that whether you will get  seat or not as  cut off marks/rank for medical colleges keeps changing every year  depending upon various factors like  number of students that appeared in the exam, kind of marks obtained by them , toughness level of the examination etc.

But yes when we go through previous data then it suggests that 597marks , getting a government medical college under all India quota might be difficult as for the same you should have got at least 600 + marks this year but yes you have  chances  for seat in following  Government Medical College  under UP state quota which are listed below :-

*Maharani Laxmibai Medical College, Jhansi

.

*Autonomous Medical College, Bahraich

.

*Govt. Medical College, Kannauj

.

*Govt. Medical College, Badaun

.

Above prediction is on the basis of past year data  but  cutoff keeps changing every year due to many factors as mentioned earlier, so to have a better picture of the colleges in which you have chances and
to get the complete list of colleges in which you have chances, you can go through our college predictor at

https://medicine.careers360.com/neet-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer

It gives you a personalized report with top college in which you have chances for admission , with the help of predicted colleges you can make better choice while filling your choices of colleges during your counselling

Thankyou

I am in general categary, domecile of up, got 597 marks, chance of getting govt mbbs seat in aiq/state counselling

S. Saha Student Expert 26th Oct, 2020
Going through last year's cutoffs, you can expect
  • GMC Badaun
  • BabaRaghav Das Medical College
  • Maharani Laxmibai Medical college
  • GMC Ambedkarnagar
  • GMC Kannauj
  • GMC Sahranpur
etc under 85% state quota. But keep in mind that these are based on last year's data and this year the cutoffs can change. To get complete list of all colleges you can get based on your rank use this link http://medicine.careers360.com/neet-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer
Through All India counselling it would be difficult to get any seat as government Medical colleges almost get filled within 12000 rank and with 597 marks in Neet your rank would be around 21000. However you can check the cutoffs of government Medical colleges through AIQ here http://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-cut-off-for-government-colleges

Hello

As per last years cutoff, for general category there are less chances of getting a government MBBS seat with this rank even with state quota. You definitely can get private medical colleges and deemed universities like.

  1. Career Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow
  2. Teerthanker Mahaveer Medical College & Research Centre, Moradabad
  3. F.H. Medical College, Agra

I wil suggest you to use college predictor tool to know about all possibilites.

i i got 528 marks in neet 2020 and i also have defence quota from obc category so is there any to get gov mbbs seat any how and anywhere?

Shivani sunil kakde 26th Oct, 2020

Dear Aspirant,

Firstly congrats for your score. Your score are good enough for an OBC category candidate to get government medical seat through state level quota. There are low chances to get medical seat through All India Quota because as per last years cutoff general and OBC category candidate needed 560 and above score to get government medical seat through All India Quota.

As you have not mentioned your state so it seems quite difficult to predict your college. You can use the given below link to predict your college by submitting your NEET score.

my marks was 537 and i am from andra pradesh and nt AIR was 57811 is there any chances to get mbbs seat in any college of andra pradesh

Nandhini Student Expert 25th Oct, 2020

Hello student,

With a rank of around 57,000, it becomes difficult to secure a seat in the government medical colleges as the closing ranks of around 30,000 when comparing the results of the past years. But, you may get a seat in the private colleges as the closing ranks there were around 1,00,000, still it depends on your region.

Yet, ranks and scores vary each year depending on state quotas, difficulty level of the question paper and so on. However, you can also predict the colleges which you are likely to get using the below mentioned link:
