Software Engineer
Greetings,
I think its not particularly operating systems but it can be called sytem engineering because an os has a multiple more aspects. A system engineer can start with providing assistance in the Hardware and the Software domain, as per job expectations. Eventually, you can engage to learn and add more skills, like the OS, Network, Virtualization etc, that only help you further add value to your role, and to an organization. Salary packages depends upon your capability, skills, the way you present yourself in the interview and the company you will be hired by.
For freshers placed in a very average company the salary may vary from 3 to 6 lakhs per year but if you are good you may even be placed with a huge amount as a fresher.
All the best
First of all you need to pursue computer science engineering course of course from a top university of you want better future opportunities. Then you will have a chance to either do masters in operating system from foreign universitites or else you can do MTech from Indian top universities like IITs and other top colleges.
Best wishes. Thank-you.
Hello saurav,
To pursue M.TECH in colleges of India , you can opt two ways-
1) GATE Examination
2) Admission in private college
But by considering your CGPA , you are not eligible to give gate exam because their minimum eligibility criteria is 6.5 CGPA .
So ,in India private college seems to be an option for you.
Now In case of studying abroad there are certain criteria you need to fulfill:
1) An obligatory language test like IELTS ,TOEFL etc are required.
2) Most importantly an admission test that is GRE has to be given by the candidate .
GRE is a 340 marks test ,out of which 325+ scores are considered very good scores.
After clearing GRE with good scores you need to select University then all the official formalities are required to fulfill.
Hope this helps and wish you all the best.
Hello dear student,
If you want to become a software engineer then you must have computer science or maths with science in your class 12th. You can opt for BTech computer science b tech information technology as your trade subjects in your graduation. Then you can give different entrance test in different colleges otherwise you can directly give JEE mains and get a good score in JEE mains and you can apply for different private colleges or NIT's and even some really good government college to get these subject. Then you can do specialisation if required to become software engineer. I hope this was helpful
Best wishes

Now there is a CAP process for baby IIMs and it is not clear yet as which IIMs might participate. So you will have to keep an eye on each IIM's website that you may be interested in. Production support is the field in which developer involves activities like a project. It involves the maintenance, customer support and small enhancement.
Software testing is the process of check correctness of developed software. Both Production support engineer and software testing engineer are good.
In my perspective, production support is better than software engineering. I would recommend go for production support engineering. It depends on you because it's your choice.
Best of luck!!
Hello,
If you are already enrolled in full time Integrated M.tech course then I think it will be not possible to join a regular job as software engineer. However, you can start by doing freelancing work and projects outsourced by various organisation.
In cae the course you have joined is not full time you can definitely go ahead and start working as a software engineer.
Hope it helps
