Shreya Singh Student Expert 8th Aug, 2019

Hello,

As per a MCI notification, recommendations are being asked for uniform internship stipend all over India and if it applies then all interns will get the same irrespective of college. The highest in India is as of now in AIIMS and other Central colleges in 23500 every month for a duration of 12 months. So, other colleges might get in the range of 17k-20k as a guess even if not at par with AIIMS.

How you will get chance to get job or work in such big hospitals?

Nishu Kumari 2nd Aug, 2019

Hello Shweta,

For getting placed into some recognized hospitals you need to have the basic skills included in you as a surgeon.

You must have the basic qualifications to be a doctor, a post graduation in surgery, and you must experience the training period for 4 or more months under a senior surgeon.

You must choose the best for the patient that comes to you with skills and experience.

Please note that the earning capacity of the surgeon and his ability to gain celebrity patients are not factors that come under the reckoning when assessing a surgeon's quality. You need full dedication, and you must be able to work at all hours with your flexibility.

For getting jobs in big hospitals you need to gain experience, enhance your quality and be patient.

You must attend different seminars and go through the interview provided by a hospital. You need to report to the hospital administration you know and apply constantly.

There are many online websites where you can apply for jobs as surgeon and apps like LinkedIn, etc.

I hope your doubt is cleared.

Good luck.

After completing b.sc optometry in india can i continue my pg in abroad to become doctor and surgeon by taking OAT ?

Himanshu Student Expert 31st Jul, 2019

Indian Optometry schools don't offer an OD degree. Optometry students go abroad to pursue their OD. USA has many Universities that offer this degree. The USA, Australia, Philippines, some parts of UK offer OD. After the completion of your BS degree, you need to clear the Optometry Admission Test(OAT), GRE and TOEFL to be eligible to apply for an OD in the USA.

Check the guidelines mention in the Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry (ASCO)website. You could also google individual colleges to understand the eligibility criteria.

Dear Sumiran,

As you have said that your passion is surgery, but you're doubtful that you might not be able to get time for your other interests. So I would say that use your time wisely. Keep a check on how much time you're giving to your  profession and then prioritise your other needs of interests accordingly.

I hope this helps you!
