No, He will not face any issue. Jadavpur University is one of the best university present and very good coding enviorment is there.

Even if he doesn't get selected into CS and do the Hardwork there too, He still can crack good companies as many companies allow other branches students to sit in the Placements and if his coding skills will be good, he even can apply Off Campus. Then Branch will not matter at all.

No, you will only get that chance in the beginning when the counselling result is not declared. After The counselling process has started then you can not do anything like this. But if you want you get other stream or any other college the you can upgrade your form. And wait for the next round result.

i don't think there would be much effects of your gap years on your studies especially after getting selected in wbjee  .it would also not going to create any problems in your placements .but be careful about your documents .most of colleges ask for updated documents so please checkout the documents recquirement of your chosen college and prepare your documents carefully
