CLAT(Common Law Admission Test)
is conducted by National Law University every year. For the year 2019, the examination is scheduled to take place on the 26th of May. CLAT test is administered offline i.e the medium of the examination will be an offline mode. The national-level law entrance examination will be held to offer admissions into the undergraduate law programmes including B.A LL.B, B.B.A LL.B, B.Com LL.B, and B.Sc LL.B. Every year CLAT conduct test to offer admission into 21 NLU spread across India. Last year total of 2600 seats was offered to the students on several campuses such as; Odisha, Dharamshala, Shimla, Jabalpur etc.
Eligibility criteria:
A candidate who wants to appear for CLAT must have completed 10+2 board exams from the recognized education board. For general category student, a candidate must have scored 45% marks and 40% is a qualifying mark for reserved category students (SC, ST etc). The beauty of the examination is that there is no age bar for appearing in CLAT paper.
Examination Pattern:
The CLAT paper is conducted in an offline mode. There will be 200 questions multiple choice questions and candidate must select one correct option from four options. For every correct answer, you'll be awarded one marks and 0.25 marks will be deducted in case of the wrong answer. The question paper will be in English medium only.
Selection procedure: The selection in the prestigious NLU college is based on 'merit-cum-preference' i.e the university will declare the merit select of the top candidate in the respective institutes. The online counselling session starts after the declaration of results. Then the counselling procedure starts, the candidate needs to fill out their preference of colleges with counselling fee. The whole process of counselling is available on the official website. The whole admission process is in four steps; Publication of first indicative list based on merit cum preference->Payment of counselling fee and exercising of the option by provisionally selected candidates->Publication of the second list having the names of finalized candidates after payment of counselling fee and additional waitlisted candidates-> Publication of third list allotting seats to candidates.
Now, answer to your question,
No there will be no GD or PI round in CLAT
and admission are given solely based on CLAT admission test.
