One is completely technical in terms and other is edged more towards learning the basics grounding. Its important in btech to explore one towards more practical knowledge its their key role rather than on just gulping down the things.

As btech is usually dealing with more technical advancements rather than a bsc degree.

Furthermore for your doctorate degree you have to pursue a msc degree after bsc on tge other hand but thats not the case with your btetch its sufficient for one good job opportunities.

So it basically depends upon you whether you have to follow a more technological approach or a more theorotical approach.
