No, you cannot take direct admission into Delhi Technological University (DTU) for the B.Tech program without appearing for the JEE Main examination and participating in the Joint Admission Counselling (JAC) Delhi process.
Admission Process for B.Tech at DTU:
-
Entrance Exam Requirement : DTU mandates that all B.Tech aspirants must have a valid JEE Main score.
-
Counselling Process : Admissions are conducted through the JAC Delhi counselling process, which allocates seats based on JEE Main ranks.
-
No Management Quota : DTU does not offer management quota or direct admission seats for its B.Tech programs.
Alternative Pathways:
-
Lateral Entry : DTU offers lateral entry into the second year of the B.Tech program for candidates who have completed a diploma in engineering. This pathway requires qualifying an entrance examination specific to lateral entry admissions.
-
Other Programs : For programs like B.Des, admissions are based on UCEED scores, and for BBA and BA (Hons), DTU considers CUET UG scores.
Hi aspirant,
Delhi Technological University (DTU) admits students to its undergraduate programs, including the highly sought-after Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programs, based on JEE Main scores. DTU, like most engineering institutes in Delhi, admits students based on their JEE Main scores and does not offer direct admission. As a result, Indian candidates are often unable to gain direct admission to B.Tech programs without first taking the JEE Main or undergoing separate counseling given directly by DTU.
However, there may be some exceptions and alternate pathways for admission for Management Quota students and Foreign Nationals/OCI/PIO, as Delhi Technological University has a separate admission process for Foreign Nationals, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), as well as admission to some other undergraduate programs.
