Good morning,
DU and IPU follow these priority categories (same as MCC & MoD):
PriorityDescription
IKilled in action
IIDisabled in action (100%)
IIIGallantry award winners
IVDisabled in service (with disability pension)
VKilled in service (peacetime)
VIRetired defence personnel (incl. those retiring shortly)
VIIServing personnel (upto 2 children only)
If your father retires on 1st July, and you're applying in 2025 NEET counselling, you'll likely fall under:
Priority VI – Retired Defence Personnel
OR
Priority VII – Serving personnel (if paperwork still shows "in service" during application/counselling)
Key Point:
Even if he retires on 1st July, your CW eligibility remains valid. But your priority category might change from VII (serving) to VI (retired), which is lower in preference.
At AIR 35,000 + CW quota, you have excellent chances of getting MBBS in:
UCMS
LHMC (if female)
VMMC, Atal vihari Vajpayee institute, Dr. BSA
ACMS (if Army ward)
MAMC – possible with Priority I–IV, maybe not for VI–VII
