No you do not need to give any other exam before appearing for CAT. CAT is a direct entrance exam for MBA and PGDM courses mainly in IIMs and other top business schools in India. Hi aspirant,
You do not need to take any additional examinations before or after the CAT if your primary goal is to get into IIMs and other elite business schools that only or primarily accept CAT results .
However, it is highly recommended that you take additional MBA entrance tests in India.
These include popular national-level tests such as XAT ( for XLRI and other top institutes ), NMAT ( for NMIMS and others , with multiple attempts allowed ), SNAP ( for Symbiosis institutes ), CMAT ( accepted by many AICTE-approved colleges ), and MAT ( conducted multiple times a year and accepted by a wide range of business schools ). There are additional state-level exams, such as the MAH CET , for colleges in Maharashtra .
All the best!
