I am EWS but dont hold a certificate now. If I apply for the UGC NET as EWS and get JRF, can I get EWS certificate after result declaration and will it be valid? Also, if my mark is above the Unreserved (UR) General category cutoff, can I proceed without EWS certificate despite registeing as one?

Hello dear student,
YES, you can apply as EWS now and make the certificate later.
- you will get benefit under EWS, if you show it during verification.
- if you don't have it, you'll be treated as general.
- you will still qualify even without EWS, if your marks are higher than general cutoff.
