Yes you can edit your form.

- OBC Certificate Requirement: For JEE Advanced, an OBC certificate is required to claim reservation benefits. However, if you don't have the certificate at the time of registration, you can still submit it during the counseling process.

- General Category Registration: Since you've already registered under the General category, you'll need to update your category to OBC once you obtain the certificate.

- Submitting OBC Certificate After Second Attempt: You can submit your OBC certificate during the counseling process, which typically takes place after the JEE Advanced results are announced. However, it's essential to ensure that your certificate is issued by a competent authority and meets the central government's requirements.

- Eligibility for OBC Cutoff: To be eligible for the OBC cutoff, your certificate should be issued on or after April 1, 2024, and it should reflect your correct category. If your certificate meets these requirements, you'll be considered for the OBC cutoff.

In summary, you can still submit your OBC certificate during the counseling process and be considered for the OBC cutoff, provided your certificate meets the necessary requirements.

Hello Sakshi,

No, you won't get the OBC cutoff for JEE Advanced if you applied under the General category in JEE Main.

The reasons are listed below:

  1. Category once selected in JEE Main cannot be changed later for JEE Advanced.

  2. Even if you get your OBC certificate after the second attempt, your JEE Main application is already under the General category, so you will be considered General for JEE Advanced as well.

  3. If you want to claim the OBC-NCL reservation, you must have selected it while filling the JEE Main form.

For future reference, always apply with the correct category and submit the required certificate before the deadline .

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Yes, you can change your category from General to OBC-NCL for the JEE Advanced 2025 examination, even if you initially applied under the General category for JEE Main. Here's how you can proceed:

1. JEE Main Category Update:

  • Second Attempt Application: If you plan to appear for the second session of JEE Main 2025, you can update your category to OBC-NCL during the application process. Ensure you have a valid OBC-NCL certificate issued on or after April 1, 2025, as required by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

2. JEE Advanced Registration:

  • Category Declaration: During the JEE Advanced 2025 registration, you can declare your OBC-NCL status, regardless of the category mentioned in your JEE Main application.
  • Document Submission: You must upload a valid OBC-NCL certificate issued on or after April 1, 2025. If you're unable to obtain the certificate before registration, you may upload a declaration in lieu of the certificate, as per the guidelines provided in the JEE Advanced Information Brochure.

Important Considerations:

  • Certificate Validity: Ensure that your OBC-NCL certificate is in the prescribed format and issued by a competent authority. The certificate must be dated on or after April 1, 2025, to be valid for the 2025 admissions.
  • Timely Application: Initiate the process of obtaining your OBC-NCL certificate well in advance to avoid any delays during the application and counseling stages.

For detailed information, refer to the official JEE Advanced 2025 Information Brochure and stay updated with announcements from the official JEE Advanced website.
