I have an important question related to my career that I studied Class 12 and finished it in 2023 and then I didn't write any entrance exam like JEE mains or advanced. So, I took a drop year to make it into NIT. Then, after taking drop year, I didn't qualify in mains. So, as well as I didn't qualify to write JEE advanced. So, I took another drop year. It's my second drop year now,in 2025. So, in the consecutive years after finishing my 12th , I didn't write any JEE advanced exam. So, am I eligible to write JEE advanced if I qualify JEE means in 2025?

Hello,

Unfortunately, you are not eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2025 even if you qualify JEE Mains.

Why?

The eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced state that a candidate can attempt the exam only twice in consecutive years after passing Class 12.

  • Since you passed Class 12 in 2023 , your two chances to write JEE Advanced were in 2023 and 2024 (provided you qualified JEE Mains).

  • You skipped JEE Advanced in both years, which means you are no longer eligible for JEE Advanced 2025 .

What Can You Do?

  1. Focus on JEE Mains: You can still get into NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs if you score well in JEE Mains.

  2. Consider Private or State Engineering Colleges: Many top private colleges accept JEE Main scores or conduct their own entrance exams (e.g., BITS Pilani, VIT, SRM, Manipal, etc.).

  3. Explore Other Career Options: If you are open to different career paths, you can consider other entrance exams or alternative fields.
