IPU B.Tech admissions are based on JEE Main ranks followed by online IPU Counselling.So, you will have to appear in JEE mains examination for admission in IPU, but if you want admission in Biotechnology course then you need to appear in IPU CET.

No, IPU does not conduct its own examination for B.tech.
From 2019 onwards all the candidates are required to appear in Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main paper 1 conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).
IPU doesn't conduct its own exam but use the merit of JEE MAIN paper 1 for itd admission.
