Hey Shivam. Good to see your interest in this branch. There is a huge scope for Aircraft Maintenance Engineers in India. As this course is approved by DGCA, there is a degree required for 4 years and a license will be issued by the competent authority and later you will have the right to undertake all kinds of maintenance works of aircraft. You can opt for btech in aeronautical engineering course and after its successful completion you will be treated as a graduate. There are multiple jobs in this field and as mentioned by Manisha also, you can find jobs as engineers at Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL), Air India, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), BHEL, DRDO, Indian Air Force (IAF), Coast Guard and Airline Industries etc.

In terms of packages and salary, though it may vary on your calibre and dedication, you can expect a package of 50-60K initially.

Good Luck.

Hi,

Aircraft Maintenance requires a certification from DGCA which is the authority for this. They have specified a list of training institutes for this too. Aircraft Manuafacturing - well there is no specific course for this. You could do an aeronautical engineering or aerospace engineering programme. Aeronautical does cover this as a part of the course. Otherwise you can do your B.Tech in Aeronautical, mechanical, electrical or electronics & communication too to get a job in the industry. With some experience, you get some relaxation in the certification from DGCA. Check the guidelines here . List of Institutes offering the AME are mentioned here

Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) is slightly different from Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering. It has wide scope in the aviation sector like Indian Airlines, Kingfisher, Jet Airways, Spice jet, Air India, Sahara and many more. All these companies looking for large number of Aircraft Maintenance Engineers for the maintenance works of their aircraft. The opportunity does not limited to India only it extends to few companies in abroad too.

Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is approved by DGCA. On successful completion of the course, a license will be issued by the competent authority.

Good Luck!
