Steps to Become a Maths Professor After 11th & 12th PCM

  1. Complete a Bachelor's Degree B.Sc. Mathematics (3 years)

  2. Pursue a Master's Degree M.Sc. Mathematics (2 years)

  3. Qualify for UGC NET or SET – Required for Assistant Professor roles in colleges.

  4. Complete a Ph.D. in Mathematics – Increases career prospects, especially for top universities.

  5. Gain Teaching Experience – Work as a lecturer or research assistant.


    Salary of a Maths Professor in India
  • Assistant Professor : Rs. 40,000 - Rs. 1 lakh/month
  • Associate Professor : Rs. 80,000 - Rs. 1.5 lakh/month
  • Professor (Senior level) : Rs. 1.5 lakh - Rs. 3 lakh/month
  • Private colleges may offer lower salaries, while IITs & NITs provide better packages.
