Hi Aspirant!
India comes under the developing countries. We are also ranked second in the terms of population after China. So the rising population can be considered as the main cause of poverty in India.
>> other than this, there are many other causes which can be considered for poverty, some of them are listed below:
- unemployment and under unemployment.
- Capital deficiency.
- Underdeveloped economy because of low rate of growth.
- Increasing prices, which is making the poor more poor.
- The net national income is quite low as compared to size of population. Low per capita income proves its poverty, which makes us one of the poorer countries.
- Being a rural country there are not so much technologies in the agricultural sector.
- Lack of proper industrialization.
- Growth of economy is very low as per the growth of the population.
- The social structure of our country is full of outdated traditions and customs like caste system, laws of inheritance and succession. These hamper the growth of economy.
- Improper use of natural resources. India has a vast amount of natural resources such as coal, manganese, iron, etc. But we are not putting that into use.
- Lack of infrastructure can be considered as the other reason for the causes of poverty in India.
Thankyou!
