The placement scenario for vlsi stream is really good in IIT Roorkee.Companies like Texas Instruments, Qualcomm,Nvidia comes to recruit students for hardware profile and offers packages ranging from 15-19 l.p.a.Usually M.Tech guys are preferred for it.Other core companies like Eaton,Mathworks also recruit VLSI guys.There are also a lot of software companies coming for placements as well. SO all in all the placement scenario is really good provided you have a cgpa>=7.5 for vlsi at IIT Roorkee

IIT Roorkee is a great option for M.tech in ECE. Placements, faculty and crowd is brilliant. Core electronics companies like Intel, Qualcomm, Texas hire Communication and VLSI specialisation students. Average package is around 13-15 lakhs per annum. The college also promotes research among its students.
