There are 5550 MBBS seats in Tamilnadu and among them, 3600 seats belong to government medical college and 1950 seats are in Private colleges. In addition, there is a recent increase of 1650 seats which lifts the number of seats upto 7200. In 2019, the last rank to secure a government medical college was around 3000 in Tamilnadu(State rank).
