Hello,

Last rank is nothing but the closing rank of a branch in which a candidate have secured a seat. In AP EAMCET counselling the seat allotment is based on the candidate's rank. category, seat availability, and preference of the college/branch. For example three candidates with rank 10,000, 12,000 and 15,000 secured seat in a college in a branch 'A' belonging to a category 'B' then the opening rank of the branch 'A' and category 'B' is 10,000 and the closing rank of the branch 'A' and category 'B' is 15,000 which is nothing but the opening cut off rank and the closing cut off rank respectively. The closing rank is different for each college/branch and category. The cut off rank changes every year depending on number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of exam and number of seats available etc.
