Admission to Banaras Hindu University (BHU) through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is highly competitive, with cut-off scores varying annually based on factors such as the number of applicants, seat availability, and overall performance. While the official cut-off scores for 2025 have not yet been released, analyzing previous years' data can provide a general idea of the expected cut-offs for both Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and General category candidates.

Understanding CUET Cut-offs:

The CUET cut-off is the minimum score required for a candidate to be eligible for admission into a particular course. These cut-offs are determined by each university and can vary significantly between courses and categories.

Expected CUET Cut-offs for BHU (2025):

Based on trends from previous years, here are the approximate expected cut-off scores for some popular undergraduate programs at BHU:

Program General Category EWS Category
B.Com (Hons) 480–490 450–460
B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture 495–505 490–500
B.Sc (Hons) Mathematics 475–485 470–480
B.Sc (Hons) Physics 395–405 375–385
B.A. (Hons) Arts 420–430 400–410
B.A. (Hons) Social Sciences 430–440 410–420

Note: These figures are based on previous years' data and are subject to change. For the most accurate and updated information, always refer to the official BHU admissions portal.

Factors Influencing Cut-offs:

  1. Number of Applicants: An increase in applicants can lead to higher cut-off scores.
  2. Difficulty Level of CUET: A more challenging exam may result in lower cut-off scores, and vice versa.
  3. Seat Availability: Limited seats in a program can raise the cut-off scores due to increased competition.
  4. Category Reservations: Reserved categories (EWS, OBC, SC, ST) typically have lower cut-off scores compared to the general category.

Recommendations for Aspirants:

  • Aim High: Strive to score well above the previous years' cut-offs to enhance your chances of securing admission.
  • Stay Updated: Regularly check the official BHU website and the CUET portal for the latest information on cut-offs and admission procedures.
  • Prepare Thoroughly: A comprehensive understanding of the exam pattern and consistent practice can significantly boost your performance.

Remember, these cut-off scores are indicative and can vary each year. It's essential to stay informed and prepare diligently to achieve your academic goals.
