About Cotton University Guwahati
Cotton University, Guwahati is a public state university located in Guwahati, Assam. The Cotton College State University and Cotton College were merged in 2017 under the requirements of an Act passed by the Assam Legislative Assembly and formed the Cotton University.
Cotton University is recognised by the Universal Grants Commission (UGC). Cotton University offers courses in the streams of Science, Computer Applications & IT, Education, Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences and Media, Mass Communication and Journalism. The courses offered by Cotton University Guwahati include diploma, BA, B.Sc, BCA, MA, M.Sc., M.Lib.I.Sc., MCA, and PhD.
Cotton University offers admission to UG programmes based on the candidate's performance in CUET-UG conducted by the NTA. Cotton University Guwahati offers postgraduate admissions based on the results of the Cotton Post-Graduate Entrance Examination (CPGEE), which the university administers. For Ph.D admissions, students have to appear in UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR-NET/GATE/CEED.

College Infrastructure
The Infrastructure in Cotton is nice.It is constantly evolving, with ongoing and recent constructions of the New Academic Building, Administrative Building,New Hostels and a Art Gallery in the old principal's residency, along with the renovation of existing buildings.The classrooms are well furnished & spacious. The university also features an indoor stadium,which provides sports enthusiasts with gym facilities and opportunities to participate in various games and tournaments. Moreover, the Suryya Kumar Bhuyan Library located within the campus is also well equipped which serves as a treasure trove of knowledge, offering students a peaceful studying environment with various facilities like Wi-fi & JSTOR access, along with a plethora of books. The various journals, magazines, e-books, etc available in the library further support academic pursuits.
It has been quite a journey here.

College Infrastructure
Cotton University is one of the most prestigious University of the state. It has many department's and the faculties are well experienced. The Physics department in the University has all the necessary amenities such as smart classrooms, all the required laboratories for graduate and post graduate level experiments, a well updated library, Wi-Fi, etc. The only downside of the University is that it doesn't have it's own sports center and sports field.
