IISER-MOHALI

Integrated Master's level (B.S.-M.S.): Admission to this programmes is after 10+2 years of school training and is currently done in coordination with the other IISERs through a Joint Admission Programme.

Integrated Doctoral Programme (Int. Ph.D.): Integrated Ph.D. involves a master's degree (M.S.) followed by a doctorate (Ph.D.). Students after three years of undergraduate education can join the program.

Doctoral Programme (Ph.D.): Admission to the doctoral programme requires a master's degree in science. It is notable that IISER Mohali has an active Humanities & Social Sciences Department, which also offers Ph.D. positions.

IISER has its own eligibility criteria. You can get on the basis on any one of these three.

Through KVPY, if your fellowship is of 2019-2020, JEE advanced 2019: if you qualify the limited rank set by them or SCB: for that you should've cleared 12in 2018 or 2019.

So, you can't got through the other two. You can see for yourself in the other two criterias.

Dear Aryan, IISER is an Aptitude test for admission into 5 year BS-MS degree.programmes. 7 Institutes participate in this programme. IISER stands for Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research. Admission into these 7 IISERs is conducted through 3 channels, KVPY, JEE and SCB. IISER admission test is for those candidates who are looking for admission througb SCB channel. This is an integrated program which involves BS and MS studies. These Institutes promote higher quality education and ground breaking research opportunities which is more advanced than B.Sc in terms of curriculum, objectives, infrastructure and opportunities. Indian National, PIO & OCI candidates are eligible to apply.

• Candidates have a valid KVPY scholarship commencing from 2019-2019 session.

Hi, Aryan. Thank you for your query with Careers360.My answer is based on the information derived from the official IISER website.

There are 3 channels for admissions into the IISER institutions, namely through KVPY Channel, JEE Advanced Channel and the SCB channel.

I suppose your question is directed toward the SCB i.e State and Central Boards Channel, that is basically appearing for an IISER aptitude test after your 12th Board Exams. But the eligibility criterion clearly states that you should have cleared your board exams in the years 2018 or 2019 (not 2017 as in your case) to appear for the aptitude test. So, I fear that is not a possibility for you.

However, you can still try through the JEE Advanced channel by getting a rank under 10,000 in the Common Merit List, in JEE 2019. (As even KVPY 2018 is already over in November.

The eligibilit y criteria to apply for IISER admission 2019 are:

Nationality: Candidates of Indian Nationals, PIO & OCI are eligible to apply.

KVPY stream: Applying candidate should have the valid KVPY scholarship starting from 2019-2020.

JEE Advanced channel: One should qualify the JEE Advanced examination & obtain a rank within 10000 in CRL (Common Rank List).

Relaxation: The category rank will be considered for OBC-NC/SC/ST/PwD category candidates (within 10000).

SCB channel: Candidate should pass the 12th or equivalent exam in science stream in the year 2018 or 2019. Minimum Marks: Must secure marks equivalent or above the cut-off percentage marks of their respective board exam.

The eligibility criteria of IISER is different for different channel.Fuilfilling the eligibility criteria is manadatory.

For KVPY:Students should have KVPY fellowship commencing from the session 2019-2020.

For JEE Advance:Students should acqire a rank within a limit that will be announced by official authority. 

For SCB:Those who are appearing in IISER aptitude test they should qualify the cut off of admisison.

A student should fuilfil any of the above criteria.

The application for the exam will release in the month of May.

There are three channels available for admission into IISERs:

1. KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana),
2. IIT JEE (Advanced)
3. SCB (State and Central Boards).

Candidates who have cleared their Class XII in Science stream are eligible to apply for IISER entrance exam 2018.As per IISER entrance exam pattern there are a total of 60 objective questions that candidates need to complete in three hours duration.

Admission to IISER is done through three channels- KVPY, SCB and JEE.
Candidates opting for SCB channel have to appear for IISER Aptitude Test.

IISER Aptitude Test is a computer based test. Duration of the test is three hours. Questions in the test will be asked from four subjects- Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. Multiple Choice Questions will be asked in the exam.
Test Date- The exam is expected to be conducted in the fourth week of June, 2019.
