72 MonthsDoctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is an offered Full-time three/six-year Doctoral program and it is offered by the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. Ph.D. programme shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned.
Eligibility Criteria
- Master’s Degree in Engineering/Technology/Design/Architecture/Medical Sciences in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% of marks.
- Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Medical Sciences or equivalent in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 7.5 or 70% of marks.
- Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 7.0, from any of the Centrally Funded Technical Institutions.
- Master’s degree in Science in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% marks.
- Master’s degree in Social Sciences, in a relevant area, with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% marks, is also considered for admission to the Centre for the Environment.
