JNCASR Bangalore Admission 2025: Dates, Registration, Fees, Eligibility

Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bangalore, is one of the reputed Category I deemed universities offering advanced scientific research and studies. JNCASR conducts a selective process of admission for different branches of science at the postgraduate and doctoral levels.

Admission cycle at JNCASR usually commences in the initial months of the year, opening for applications at the various programs of the institute. The institute offers integrated Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemical Science, and Biological Science; and M.Sc. in Chemistry and Biosciences. 1. For programs based on JAM:

2. Admission based on JNCASR's own entrance test:

• Go to the official website of JNCASR, fill out the online application form for the desired program.   
• Pay the required application fee.
• Candidates will then need to appear for JNCASR's written entrance test at the Bangalore campus.
• Those who do well in the written test will be called for interviews on the same day or the following day.

3. For the M.Sc programs:  

• JAM admission portal (for M.Sc Chemistry).
• Shortlisted candidates will be directly called for interviews at JNCASR.

Degree-wise Admission Process

Ph.D Materials Science Integrated: This course is offered to all science graduates. A strong hold in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics is necessary for the candidates. They should qualify either the JAM written test or JNCASR written test, followed by an interview in Bangalore for shortlisted candidates.

Ph.D Chemical Science Integrated: To be eligible, candidates must have a bachelor's degree where Chemistry is the major and Mathematics has been taken at least up to the 10+2 level. Selection is done through the JAM written test or JNCASR's written test, followed by an interview for shortlisted candidates.

Ph.D Biological Science Integrated: This program is offered to students who have a bachelor's degree in any branch of science. The selection process contains a JNCASR written test that would be followed by an interview in Bangalore for shortlisted candidates.

M.Sc Chemistry: This program bases its admission on JAM scores. Thereafter, shortlisted JAM candidates will be called for an interview, and the final selection is made on the basis of interview performance.

M.Sc Biosciences: For this program, shortlisted candidates are directly called for an interview. The final selection will then be decided only on the interview performance.

The required documents through which one goes through the application process generally include:
