Hello
NIFTEM (National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management) is a public university, situated in the sonipat district of Haryana. It offers B.Tech degree in Food Technology and Management as the only undergraduate course. Admission to this course is done on the basis of JEE Main ranks. ALthough it falls under government college it is more like a private sector college with high fees. Since it is not that famous yet so thec cutoffs are high and even after all the rounds of counselling they conduct a spot round so incase you dont get a seat in afirst or second round you can try your luck in the spot round. If we go through the previous trends of JEE MAINS ranking usually General category candidates get in till 70k to 80k. Each year the rank for admission has been decreasing and it might be the possible cut-off seeing the trends. But there is also spot round at the end when all the merit list have come out, and one should surely try through the spot round if he/she is not able to make through the cut-off.
Hello Aspirant,
Based on this rank the chances seems less to get a seat in NIFTEM Sonipat. You can try for the state level counselling for teh admission to B.tech Programme.
To know your admission possibilities in state level counselling, You can also use JEE Main College Predictor tool with the given below link.

Good Luck!
Hello Suresh,
Well since admission for NIFTEM is through JoSAA counselling, so one needs to clear the JEE Main cutoff as per his/her category to be eligible to get admission in this college. Now, 2019 JEE Main cutoff for OBC-NCL category is 74.31 percentile. Since, you have 75 percentile under OBC-NCl category that means you are JEE Main qualified and hence is eligible to apply for a seat in NIFTEM. But you have to first fill the application form in online mode then proceed for JoSAA counselling. Now there are only 46 seats for OBC-NCl category candidates. So it can be hard for you to get a seat. Better attend the JoSAA counselling and see what do you get as per your merit.

Good Luck !!!!
NIFTEM is a pretty good choice for a student interested in chemistry and biology. The curriculum is very unique (its pretty tough too with both engineering as well as management courses), is industry oriented and the college itself is formed on demand from industry. Career wise, u wont regret as food industry(growing at around 15-18%) will never go down like the IT does, the primary point being your chances of getting sacked just coz of an inflation is minimal. Placements are coming real good with major companies (Nestle, Pepsico, ITC, TUV SUD, Dabur are a few) coming for recruitment. NIFTEM is a newbie and as of now research projects are just taking off. This is an advantage too, because there are more funds to support ur research and a well-backed faculty dept and administration. Apart from academics, u get state of the art infrastructure facilities(Internet speed of 1 gbps is one example). Only negative i would say is the campus life is still building up and the liveliness that you find in an old institute is yet to be attained. Apart from that, I would suggest you NIFTEM if you ask me because NIFTEM is just about to spread its wings.
Hello ,
Every year there will be a cutoff rank for the admission in NIFTEM , so , it is not predictable but if we see according to previous year’s cutoff ranks , general category closes at AIR 1,25,000 so you will not surely get a seat here according to last year’s analysis .
But you can give a try if required. Hope you got the answer you are looking for thank you.
Thank you .
Sant Longowal institute of engineering and technology is a autonomous body under MHRD established by Govt of India. It is situated in Longowal a small town of Sangrur District in Punjab.
2 .Cons:
At last I want to say that no college is good or bad it only depends on students what they make it. If you have a gene of engineering and want to explore then this is the right place for you.
Thanks

Hi,
Till the last admission procedure, the CRL for NIFTEM was around 1.5–2 lac for a general candidate and it goes higher above for the reserved categories.
IIFPT(formerly, IICPT) provides a degree in food process engineering. Basically, people confuse between food engineering, food science, food processing, food technology, it might seem all of them are same at the first glance but actually not so, each of these have subtle difference in application.
For previous year cut offs for IIFPT:

College infrastructure is absolutely phenomenal. In college, one can find all the desired infra including world class library, state of the art classes and hostels for students accomodation in the college.
Everything is well equipped and maintained infrastructure Green lush environment as well as it has a great library and well cultured environment. It also try to connect students with IT sector although it offers food technology course.
