Hey Pratibha.

No, National Law University Delhi does not offer a 5 year integrated course of Law in Bcom LLB. NLU Delhi offers admission based on its entrance exam AILET. It offers only one, five year integrated law course BA LLB. Other than this NLU Delhi offers LLM, PHD and Post graduate diploma courses. There are other NLUs like Gandhinagar National Law University and TNNLS which offer the course of BCOM LLB. Admissions in the two are through CLAT. There are various other colleges in India which aren't NLUs that offer the same course.

Best of luck

Hello Pratibha Yadav,

Yes, NLU Delhi does offer BA LLB integrated course (5years).

Thanku.

Dear Max,

CLAT or Common Law Admission Test is held every year by various National Law Universities across the country.

As per your question you need to look at the The CLAT guidelines that clearly mention that the Candidates who are apprearing in the qualifying exams (Board exams) in 2019 are also eligible to apply for the exam.

Also, if they are selected on the basis of entrance result they will have to provide proof of passing the qualifying exams during the counselling that they will be called for. NLUs ask for passing certificate during counselling and additional documents which they would specify once you clear the entrance exam.

So, for you to get admission in NLUs you must have a passing certificate with you and they would also ask for you 12th marksheet for verification purposes.

The other CLAT eligiblity criteria are as follows:

1) Age criteria: The CLAT 2019 has revised it's guidelines and as per it, there will be no upper age limit for UG program.

Earlier the upper age limit was fixed at below 20 years for the unreserved, NRI and NRI sponsored and below 22 years for SC, ST, OBC and Specially abled category.

2) Educational qualification: You must have secured in class 12th or equivalent A minimum of 45% marks if you belong to Unreserved, OBC or specially abled category. You would require a minimum of 40% marks if you belong to SC/ST category.

So, provided you have above 40% or 45% marks in your Board exam, a passing certificate and have scored above the cut-off marks you will be eligible for counselling.

I would advise you to concentrate on clearing all your additional and compulsory papers so to eliminate any risk regarding apprearing for CLAT. Also, apart from CLAT there are many more similar exams you might want to apply for example:

1) LSAT India or Law School Admission Test.

2) All India Law Entrance Test or AILET.

 3) Army Institute of Law B.A. LL.B Entrance Test or AIL Entrance Test S

4) Symbiosis Entrance Test or SET.

5) BVP CET Law entrance test.

I hope you have found the relevant information required for understanding what you need to do now.

Best of luck with your examinations.

Cheers,

Arpita Goon.

Hello aspirant,

The reservation system is as follows

  • For OBCs 27%
  • For SCs 15
  • For STs 8%

Thankyou.

If you have got compartment in any of the paper of 12th boards, then you are not eligible for Clat examination. Because atleast 45% marks is required to give this examination and since you got compart, the question of percentage will not rise. However, if you cleared your compartment exam,, then you will apply for the clat exam next year. Or else if your result of compartment exam will be declared before the clat exam, then also you can apply.

All the best!

Hi,

If someone wants to be a part of Judiciary system he/she needs to do a degree in law. It doesn't matter whether one wants to serve as a Lawyer or a Judge, one needs to successfully obtain Law degree as a regular student. More information about the various career options in law domain is available at Law degree Opens various careers options. As you are in Class 11 going for 5-year Integrated LLB programme will be more useful.

Information about Indian Judicial Services Exam would be beneficial for candidates who wants to go in Judicial Services.

Hey Rasika.

The amount of marks that you would require to score in CLAT for a fair chance of admission in NLU Mumbai cannot be accurately predicted at all.

In the previous year the marks required for admission in top NLUs were around 150+ but it changed to 130+ marks in the next year. The poing being that it keeps on changing each year due to several factors like level of competition, level of difficulty and much more. Hence an accurate presumption for marks cant be made in CLAT.

The ranks required remain similar though. The cut off  rank for admission in NLU Mumbai in the previous year was 503 for the general category. Hence you can expect a similar range of cut  off this year too.

Best of luck

Our library and classrooms are brilliant. There is a lot of space available. Recently, our campus has become denser due to NCR reservations. Wi-Fi quality is down, but it is still good. The food is fine. Sports facilities are also improved gradually.
