Hello aspirant. I am glad to learn about your interest in law.
First and foremost thing one needs to clear CLAT or LSAT or SLAT in order to get admission in top notch law colleges or universities.
Let me break it down for you. I will list requirements required to meet the criteria for these examination:

1 Pass 10+2. This requires atleast 50-60% invidual subject marks.
This number depends from exam to exam to college.

2. Give the entrance exam

3. Your rank through entrance exam is the deciding factor.
Work your hardest for the entrance exam.
I hope this answer was helpful.
All the very best.

Hey Sourav!

Congratulations on a good score! And yes, it is absolutely correct to go for Nirma university or Narsee Monjee, Mumbai if you don't make it to one of the top 10 NLUs. Both of these are extremely reputed colleges for legal education apart from the NLUs and would be totally worth your time and money. If you don't want to get into one of the lower ranked NLUs, it would be correct for you to go for one of these colleges.

All the best. Hope it helps.

Hi Aayan!

Even after all the expected inflation in cutoffs of CLAT this year, you can expect to get RMLNLU since you have both OBC reservation as well as domicile of Uttar Pradesh. Though I am not sure if you will get it in the first list itself, there is a high chance that you might make it to RMLNLU in the subsequent lists.

Wishing you all the best.

Hope it helps.

Helloo Vikramaditya,

See predicting the final college is also difficult and seems pointless until the actual cutoff is announced.

The trend for the cutoff changes every year depending upon student's performance and total no. of available seats.

For your marks and category it seems a bit more difficult to get any NLU as this time the merit has gone up and thus the cutoff will also go high. However you should still not loose hope and thus register for counselling whenever the portal opens and look what best happens.

 GOOD LUCK

Hey Karnika!

I hope you are are aware that there will be an inflation in the cutoffs this year because of the easier level of CLAT 2019. The general cutoff for NLU Jabalpur will most probably be around 120-125. But since, you belong to OBC category and have the Madhya Pradesh domicile as well, in all probability you have a very good chance of making it to NLU Jabalpur with 115 marks. If not in the first list, you will definitely make it in the subsequent lists.

All the best. Hope it helps.

Hello Verma.

Good to hear from you. As per the previous years' trends in the cut-off, 130 marks is a good score. You can get a seat good NLUs like NLU, Hyderabad. Cutoff for NLU, Hyd is close to 130 marks. For more details check this article: https://dqxeclau.top/university/nalsar-university-of-law-hyderabad

And you can also check the list of colleges you're eligible to be placed in here: https://law.careers360.com/clat-college-predictor

All the best.

Hello Chitransh,

According to the Rank Predictor tool, your probable common rank range comes in between 561 to 1,261 considering you are from the Unreserved category. Now, keep a note of this that the cutoffs might be soaring higher than the last years because of the easy level of the question paper this time. However, these are some of the NLUs you can expect as per the previous year cutoff trends -

  • HNLU Raipur - closing marks - 112, closing rank - 850
  • RMLNLU Lucknow - closing marks - 112.5, rank - 800
  • RGNLU Patiala - marks - 110, rank - 1050
  • NUALS Kochi - marks - 108, rank - 1200
  • CNLU Patna - marks - 104.5, rank - 1600
  • NLUO Cuttack - marks - 104.5, rank - 1600

If your actual score comes to be even better than your expected one, you might have better chances in better NLUs.

All the Best!

Hello Samarth, No, you won't get any of the NLUs unfortunately, because in 2018 the closing rank marks in the last NLU was 93 and the cutoffs are expected to increase this year, so I don't think you would get a seat in any of the NLUs. Moreover, you are from general category which makes it all tough for you.

Dear aspirant,
If i am not misinterpreting then you scored 113.5/200 in clat , according to previous years (which is subjective as cut off ranks change every year, depending upon level of difficulty of clat this year,no of candidates applying to nlu this year from general category ) score vs rank analysis your rank is expected to lie b/w the range 497-1197 so it will completely depend on the fact that where your rank will actually fallout between this range, below i am mentioning NLU's in which you have probable chances of getting into:

  • Hidayatullah national law university cr=657
  • Ram manohar lohiya national law university, cr=668
  • Rajiv gandhi national law university, cr=984
  • Chanakya national law university , cr=1196
  • Maharastra national law university, cr=1526
  • Damodaram sanjay vijay nlu , cr=1432
  • Nlu of advanced legal studies , cr=928
  • NLU odhisha, cr=1167
  • National university of research and study and research in law , cr=1255
  • NLU and judicial acadmey, cr=1556
  • Tamil nadu national law school

Also for more analysis regaring colleges you can get through this score you can use following clat college predictor toolhttps://law.careers360.com/clat-college-predictor?icn=clat-clgpd-trail&ici=clat-rp_result_page_upper_link

Hello Adamya, Well, based on past years closing rank marks, you can get some of the mid-level NLUs like NLU Raipur, NLU Lucknow, NLU Patiala, NLU Kochi. All these NLUs had closing rank marks of 120-124. This year's cutoff might increase but not too much, you should definitely get the above NLUs till the final round counseling.

Our library and classrooms are brilliant. There is a lot of space available. Recently, our campus has become denser due to NCR reservations. Wi-Fi quality is down, but it is still good. The food is fine. Sports facilities are also improved gradually.
