24 MonthsMaster of Science in Applied Statistics and Informatics is two years (4 Semester) full-time postgraduate program in the science stream offered by Shivaji University, Kolhapur.
The course was started in 2013-14. The Department admits 25 students to this program through a national level entrance examination each year. The program is offered under a choice based credit system (CBCS). The course is interdisciplinary in nature and designed to train students in Statistics, Mathematics and Computer Science with more emphasis on applied statistics papers. The program has unique features such as projects (in Industry), seminars and extensive computer training of statistical software packages.
A student shall be held eligible for admission to the M. Sc. Course provided he/she has passed the B. Sc. / B. A. examination either with a principal subject or with a subsidiary/interdisciplinary/applied/ allied subjects and has passed the entrance examination conducted by the University.
The students with B. Sc. from other universities shall be eligible if they qualify through Entrance Examination and they score minimum 55 percent B+ marks in the subject at the B. Sc.
Admission is based on the Entrance Examination will be conducted by the university.
