Admission process for M.A. in Economics at University of Hyderabad is mentioned below:
Candidates are selected based on the marks obtained in the written test conducted by the university. Eligible candidates need to appear for a written test conducted by University of Hyderabad. Interested candidates can apply online with required information.
Eligibility:
Basic eligibility to apply for this course is that candidate should have scored a minimum of 50% marks in graduation with Mandatory Course : B.A.
Candidates must also have 50% marks in Economics at graduation level.
Candidates with at least 60% marks in any of the allied subjects, i.e. Commerce, Statistics,Mathematics, Engineering or any of the Social Sciences subjects are also eligible to apply.
If you fulfill the above mentioned criteria, you can apply for the written test conducted by the university
The entrance examination consists of objective type questions. This is designed to test the candidates general aptitude (including his /her quantitative ability) and understanding of economics at Bachelors level.
Admissions to MA programme commences in the month of April and selection is done based on merit scored in the entrance exam conducted by the university.

Note that University of Hyderabad is among the premier academic institutions in the country. So, I feel that placements would be guaranteed unless you are a very poor student, which you wouldn't be, since you are studying in a reputed college.

according your score you have the chances to get a call from University of Hyderabad. After to get shrtlisted you will be called for to follow the MAT selection Procedure consisting of group discussions (GD), personal interview (PI), and or a written test (WAT).
