Amar Shahid Rao Ram Baksh Singh Post Graduate College is such a college established in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh. ASRRBS PG College is affiliated to offer diverse under graduate as well as post graduate programs in many disciplines. Much like any other affiliated institution, ASRRBS PG College conducts its admissions into the cycles of the months succeeding the announcement of results for qualifying examination released in the year.  For most undergraduate programs, basic eligibility is to pass 10+2 or an equivalent examination as per recognition by the college. Postgraduate candidates generally must have completed their bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline. The eligibility criteria depend on the course and program.

Admission Process

The application procedure at ASRRBS PG College differs very slightly for each of the programs concerned but basically passes through the following stages:

1 Announcement of Admissions: The college speaks out about the commencement of the admission process as shown under the official website of the college and local media.

2 Application Form: The contestant will have to get hold of and fill in the application form. The form may be downloaded online on the college website or may be available at the college admission office.

3 Document Submission: Applicants are to submit the following documents with the application form:

• Marksheets of qualifying examinations (10th, 12th, and graduation as applicable)
• Pass certificates of qualifying examinations
• Character certificate from the last attended institution

4 Entrance Examination: Admission based on entrance examination is necessary for programs like B.Ed as required by state government and university guidelines.

5 Merit List Preparation: Based on the marks obtained in qualifying examination and/or entrance examination results, the college prepares a merit list.

6 Counselling and Admission: Shortlisted candidates are called for counselling, where their documents are verified and admission formalities, including fee payment, are completed.

7 Commencement of Classes: After the admissions process is finalized, the academic session starts according to the calendar of the college.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Ed: Admissions in the B.Ed program at ASRRBS PG College are on the basis of merit list. The bachelor's degree must be in Arts or B.E. or B.Tech with at least 50 percent marks in it scored by the candidate. The selection is considered on qualifying examination and/or entrance examination marks followed by the directives of the state government and the university.

BA: Students seeking admission into the BA degree program have to qualify in the 10+2 examination or any other examination which is recognized as equivalent. Various subjects are offered under the BA program which allows the student to pursue his/her interests in the humanities and social sciences.

B.Sc: For the B.Sc program, he/she should have completed 10+2 or an equivalent with science subjects. This program is intended for students who wish to continue their education in higher studies within various scientific fields.

MA Sociology: The course is open for any students who have passed their bachelor's degree (10+2+3) or any equivalent exam. This post-graduate course gives advanced study of sociological theories and research methods.

MA English Literature: Just like MA Sociology, the students completing their bachelor's degree (10+2+3) or equivalent will also be qualified for the MA English Literature program. This course aims for students interested in the study of English literature and language.
