The college is situated in Tiruppur, one among Tamil Nadu, and has a completely well-organized admission policy, going by merit and also good enough to accommodate deserving candidates into the wide scope of programs offered by the institution. The admission process in APGIT is done mainly on the basis of national-level qualifying examinations and academic performance in qualifying examinations. Admissions to the B-Tech programs are conducted through ''Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions'' (TNEA), which is a state-level entrance examination for the entire state. This simply means that the entire admissions process is merit-based for aspirants of engineering study.
